Should Boone Lose Their Ryle Game Intentionally?

Featured Replies

I agree they looked nothing like they did in the first! Did they not know if they win that game they control their own destiny for the playoffs!

Just wondering , which one of these teams should we expect to see in the finals , or even the second round of the playoffs ? :idunno:

The bigger question is, what difference does it make for Cooper to win? 1st 6A win would be a biggy. Who do they want to go to the playoffs more, Boone or Conner?

I talked to some parents over the last few weeks and supposedly the trash talking between players of both teams started around week 1 so I expect an entertaining game to watch. How better to start a rivalry than to beat the team you will be playing against the next few years and knock them out of the playoffs. I would think the Cooper kids will want to win just as much as Conner kids but for different reasons.

In any competition you play to win. That is what sports should teach kids. If that is lost in High School sports, then they should be cut from schools.

Sometimes one needs a good comeuppance.

Mea culpa is a Latin phrase that translates into English as "my mistake" or "my own fault". To emphasize the message, the adjective "maxima" may be inserted, resulting in "mea maxima culpa," which would translate as "my most [grievous] fault."

Wow. You tried to lead me down the right track and I refused.

Nothing here, folks. Move on.

Clyde, you really had me confused for a long, long time... knowing how knowledgeable you always are, and how thought-provoking your posts typically are, I was half afraid to post...but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what the dilemma was...

Glad VOR got it all worked out!:thumb:

This thread really had me second guessing myself.

I'm lost, but it sounds like Boone should just win because it's out of their hands, so why lose and have a bad taste in the players' mouths?

Not trying to make anyone upset, but this is the dumbest post I have ever read. Like Coach Herm Edwards always said, "You play to win the game".

It's been stated that Clyde simply made a mistake on this issue involving Boone. But, what if there was a scenario that winning a game could possibly prevent you from going to the play-offs? If you were almost 100% sure that team © would beat team (D) the same night you (team A) would beat (team B), would you tell your players "Hey, we are going out to win this game, but because we are playing to win we will be letting another team in the play-offs, and we will miss out on the play-offs"?

With the Harbin point system in Ohio, I think this could possibly happen there.

After I saw a team in the smallest division go 9-1 in Ohio and not make the playoffs I can believe anything could happen in Ohio.

Me too, I just couldnt figure out exactly what I wasnt getting. Then we figured out Clyde has a screw loose. I feel better.

Incorrect, my friend.

If Boone wins AND Conner wins they end up tied for the 4th spot. Conner wins the tie-breaker.

If all 3 end up at 1-4 Boone wins the tie-breaker.

Well this is different then what you said in your first post.
