Can someone please refresh my memory on Scott Draud? I would like to know the following:

 

1. Did he play with the 3 point line?

2. How many years did he start varsity?

3. What was his highest scoring game?

4. Was he a McDonald's HS All-American?

5. How many points did he average as a frosh, soph, jr., sr.?

6. How old was he upon graduation?

 

Certainly, one of the greatest players to ever play in the 9th Region.

Great scorer/outside/spot-up shooter. He had the green light to shoot as soon as he crossed half court. I don't know what his shooting percentage was. Was good from the line and got to go to the line a lot too. Was not a fantastic defender from what I remember. Was a solid contributor at Vandy afterward. I think he helped lead them to the NIT tourney one year, but he was not a standout in college. (Size and athleticism lacking some).

You can argue about him being in the top three all time players in the region.

 

IMO: 9th Region's top 3 players in history:

1. Doug Schloemer--Cov. Holmes

2. Dicky Beal--Cov. Holmes

3. Could be a number of people including Draud.

His last 9th region game was against Walton Verona in the regional championship game in 1986 and there was no 3 point line.

There was no 3 point line when Draud played in high school. As a pure shooter, he was better than Schloemer and Beal. I saw all three play and they all had different types of games. I personally think Beal was the very best to play in the ninth region.

I loved Dicky Beal. He would pack every gym no matter where Holmes played. He was special.
