If you had asked me 3 weeks ago I'd have said Ryle by 2 scores. Now, with the way Ryle has played the last 2 weeks, I give the Neers a close victory, 22-20.

Ryle's secondary was banged up a little last night. They should get a starting safety back next week. It happened to be the wrong opponent to be matched up against not being 100% in the secondary. I don't think SK will present the same passing issues that Campbell did, who indeed has a strong passing game. Of course, SK has a more balanced attack than Campbell, who doesn't really run the ball at all. Ultimately, Ryle has to tackle better. So many missed tackles last night. On Campbell's 58-yard TD, there had to be 5 missed tackles. I think we'll see a marked improvement in the defense next week from what we've seen the past two weeks. Of concern, however, is that with Elliott out (assuming he is out, of course), it means two players who are not used to going both ways fulltime might have to do so and that could have some impact late in the game.

Win or lose, in any game, you will never get an excuse out of Union. I think the question was, "Other than Elliot, what other starters migh Ryle have out Friday?" I think that you will find that we are all pretty tight lipped about injury and game predictions. Our kids prepare for the game that is in front of them; they didn't start thinking about SK until this morning... unlike you, who has worried about this game since the end of last season.
