Powder Blue Nation is not going to be happy with this. There is a lot of heat building up in Boone Co. and I am not talking about weather.

 

Every year you hear Boone fans gripe about their conversative offense, but nothing ever changes. Hard to imagine there will be any changes coming in the future either. His choice for QB pretty much tells you that he doesn't have any intent to do anything but run the ball.

bcrebeldad, where are you? This is one of the three teams Boone was supposed to blow-out. I will say that I thought Boone would win this game.

I picked Boone as well. Great job making me look bad Campbell!

Boone is not nearly as good as I thought. My mistake, I truely did not expect this one. Until Boone changes up how they do things it's down hill from here on out. The first two games they looked great. I think terrible scheduling and coaching is the reason for this the last 3 games.

Becoming somewhat apparent that Boone's early wins against Lex Cath and Scott County were a mirage. I believe Cooper has a legitimate shot of beating both Boone and/or Campbell.

As to the Scott Co game, I'm not sure I could say that Boone beat Scott Co. I watched the tape and in my opinion Scott Co beat Scott Co. Granted Boone didn't do any thing to beat itself and should be commended for that, but at least to me, Scott Co was the better team in that game. Scoreboard just didn't reflect it. Can't tell you how Boone beat HC as I didn't watch that game.

 

I hoping Rick, his coaches and players can get things heading in the right direction and quickly.

Not surprised at all with this outcome. Although I have not seen the stats, Boone looked very suspect vs. the pass vs. HHS and they are simply too one dimensional on offense to keep the defense honest.

 

Like LN I wish Coach Thompson the best to right the ship in a hurry.

I'm not sure if this is totally correct. I wouldn't say this is the little Thompson's fault. He had over 100 yards passing and had 2 touchdowns dropped. Along with being sacked 8 times, the kids up front may have to take the blame for this one. They had more passing yards than running. If they want to win they have to be able to run, which starts with the line, the passing game looked good beside the drops and sacks.

There were 2 dropped passes that would've been TD's, not the QBs fault. Plus he gets very little time to throw the ball. That's the lines fault, not his. On the defensive side, Boone could not defend the pass. Campbell QB had all day to pass the ball. It's hard for Boone's DBs to defend their guys for all that time, eventually they get open. Boone was missing 2 good starters on defense, that didn't help.

The line gives Thompson enough time to complete passes. He simply can't progress through reads because he can't see downfield well enough, and his ability to scramble is not the best either. Thompson is not a throwing QB, but then again Boone is not a throwing team. Last night receivers were wide open and the passes were not being thrown. Thompson has got the biggest target in NKY with a nice set of hands, and he can't see when he's wide open on the field. IMO the Rebels football program is in some serious trouble until some changes are made.
