September 14, 201016 yr That's a tough deal for Bush. No doubt he deserved it based on his on field performance.
September 14, 201016 yr He deserved the award but he was ineligible to gain those stats so it's the right decision.
September 14, 201016 yr I'm glad he did this. In the long run no one may care or remember, but I thhink it was better than it being stripped.
September 14, 201016 yr He just did it to avoid the embarrassment of having it stripped in a week or two when the Heisman group has their regular meeting.
September 15, 201016 yr Tough deal for Bush. I've never been offered money like that for any talent I possess, but even at this stage of my life I don't know that I'd turn it down. The NCAA is anti-American in nature. I hope one day it is no more.

The NCAA is anti-American in nature. I hope one day it is no more. You bring up an interesting point. I wonder if the NCAA will donate all the money made off of Reggie Bush during his years at USC to a noble cause? I think we know the answer to that.
September 15, 201016 yr He just did it to avoid the embarrassment of having it stripped in a week or two when the Heisman group has their regular meeting. Yeah, it was definitely a good PR move. What do ya'll think about Vince Young coming out and saying he wants the award now? I think they should just leave it vacated for that year now.

I think they should just leave it vacated for that year now. I believe he said he would accept it if offered. I am not a fan of it. It really serves no point of vacating if you are just going to hand it to someone else. Bush shall be the Hester Prynne of NCAA wrongdoings from henceforth.
September 15, 201016 yr Do you think all this stuff enhances or diminishes the prestige of the trophy? I say diminish.
September 15, 201016 yr Total PR move but the right thing to do! Now he should repay all the money given to him and his family during his USC days to a well deserving non-profit organization. I believe USC should match his gift to that non-profit as well.
September 15, 201016 yr Poor guy, he got paid in college and is making millions now and the only price he pays is turning in a stupid trophy.
