Track the Reds (2nd Half, Week #10)

OK, was just watching Sportscenter and I did not see the Bruce catch in the Top 10. They had Phillips' picking the grounder at #5 but no Bruce catch that I saw. I missed the first 2 or 3 so maybe it was there but the Bruce catch has to be higher than the Phillips pick.

Looks good. I'm in... :D

Any idea what the Chicago Cubs were called prior to being the Cubs?

From the Chicago Cubs website, the team had three names prior to being the Cubs. From 1874-1889 they were the White Stockings, from 1890-97 they were the Colts and then from 1898-1902 they were the Orphans. They became the Cubs in 1903.

That can't be a serious name. LOL

Stubbs is hitting .306 since 8.1.10.

That's right....the Orphans!!!

I saw a clip from an old episode of Baseball Tonight where Kruk says something along the lines of, "Even though he's struggling they need to let the kid play. He's going to be a really good centerfielder for a long time. He just needs to learn some things." While we were all worried Kruky saw something.

There's that left, right, left etc. lineup someone was mentioning the other day.

Let's go Reds! I would love for the Reds to be able to clinch by the end of next week. Then players like Rolen and Cabrera can just rest and be ready for a big playoff push on somewhat revitalized legs. Even Gomes could use a little rest, and let Corky catch a bit the last week or so of the season.

The pitching needs to be figured out in the next few weeks as well.

Keep talking about Gomes...3 RBIs so far between last night and today. Hope he keeps it up.

Votto doubles to leadoff 4th.

Not sure how he kept that ball fair.

Gotta think Alonso, Francisco and a pitcher or two will be packaged in the offseason for either a LF or Ace.
