April 15-8 May 15-14 June 13-13 July 15-11 August 11-15 September 4-9 Outside of basically one month, they've played .500 baseball. Why would you expect them to do anything else in September? Playing .500 baseball in September wouldn't have won them the division.

It would have them only 3 back in the loss column after tonight and making the Reds and their fans a whole lot less comfortable as the Reds head out for their 9 game roadtrip.

They've been average all year. Losing something like 11 of 12 in August should have let you know they weren't putting together a long winning streak needed to win the division. They won like 6 or 7 in a row right out of the all star break and that's basically the only sign of life they've showed since April except sweeping the Reds. Imagine if Cincinnati could have even split with St. Louis this year. We'd be looking at like a 13 game lead. They're simply not a good baseball team, and haven't been all year with a few exceptions. You can't expect 3 starting pitchers and 2 hitters to carry you the entire season.
