Don't have to wait that long. The bus has stopped in Batavia for some Cheeseburger in Paradise dinner. The only thing I have to say is Choke O SUCKS and so does the guy running the scoreboard. Nice job by him putting up the answer to the Scoreboard Stumper in the top of the 7th. I guess we'll never know the answer.

What was the stumper?

4 members of the 75 Reds won a World Series with another team. Rose with the Phillies and Gullett with the Yankees were my locks. Merv Rettmund or Terry Crowley with the Orioles were guesses.

That's a good question. I think you're right.

I sure hope the Reds take the extension for Dusty off the table. What ticks me off is the camera kept showing Dusty in the dugout and he did not even make a move. He did probably considered taking him out but he is loyal to a fault. As a manager, I can not believe that you can just sit in the dugout and watch that meltdown and not give someone a chance. We have no chance to win in the Playoffs if Chatman is not the closer.

You gotta think Jared Burton will be in the Cincinnati bullpen tomorrow with Louisville being put out of the playoffs today. An extra OF would be nice too.

Why can we not switch the roles of Aroldis and Cordero? Am I missing something?

Cordero is the closer. He has been all season, and he will be for the rest of the year. He had converted his last 9 in a row and like 16 or 17 out of 18 until Friday night.

This one stings, but we still took 2 out of 3 from the Pirates.

The Reds starting pitching for the Pirates series went 21 innings, and gave up 1 run, and came away with 0 wins. Not only is Cordero a major concern, but the offense, or the lack therof, is also starting to become a concern for me.

I'm more concerned about the bats than the closer.

Everyone is acting like Cordero blew the lead in all three games against the Pirates. Would I like him to be more efficient and not turn every game into an adventure, absolutely. However, there simply isn't anyone better suited for that role right now. If you put Massett into that role, who is your 6/7 inning guy. Even if Chapman is your 8 inning guy you need someone to get to him. K-Rod of 4 years ago isn't coming out of that bullpen. And, when you pay a guy that much to do a job, Dusty will run him out there everytime. The same way he stuck with Gomes, Bruce, Stubbs...etc. through their struggles.

This team needs to clinch as quickly as possible and take 2-3 days off in a row. I think everyone will come back refreshed. Heck, Votto was even 0-9 at one point. Of course, I think that was right before he hit a walk-off.
