September 5, 201016 yr Too many weapons for UC to only put up 14 points. Hard to move the ball when 3 and 4 defenders are living in the backfield. Collaros was off as well, but he had no time to even think much less throw...
September 5, 201016 yr Hard to move the ball when 3 and 4 defenders are living in the backfield. Collaros was off as well, but he had no time to even think much less throw... Didn't they return 3 starting lineman, two of which were all Big East?
September 5, 201016 yr Jones followed him just fine at CMU, and will do so at UC once he gets in a groove. As long as they get the O Line issues fixed and stay relatively healthy, this team will be right there competing for a Big East title in November. Injuries are the major concern because while BK left a lot of talent at the front of the roster, the depth is non existent at almost all positions. For all the great things BK brings to the table as a coach, he did not recruit at a very high level top to bottom. That is something Jones and his staff will need time to get back in line... I just don't want the fans in Cincy to turn on him if they only win 7 or 8 games this year.
September 5, 201016 yr Didn't they return 3 starting lineman, two of which were all Big East? Yes, but one of them moved from G to C and the unit simply hasn't gelled yet. I think they will get it figured out, but the first game was ugly...
September 5, 201016 yr I just don't want the fans in Cincy to turn on him if they only win 7 or 8 games this year. They will. It's what "fans" in this town do best...
September 5, 201016 yr Author 7-8 wins is a very successful season. Problems will surface if they would go less than 6 and not make a bowl game.
September 5, 201016 yr Hate to see a Big East team lose outside the conference. How many lost? 4 that I know of - not sure of the others.
September 5, 201016 yr They will. It's what "fans" in this town do best...Kinda like some fans and Kelly?

Weren't Louisville fans saying the samething about their new coach after Petrino had left? I have grown to like UC football, and I just hope we don't see the samething happen to them as to what happpened to Louisville after Petrino left. I do think Jones will end up doing a fine job at UC though in the end.
September 5, 201016 yr Kinda like some fans and Kelly? Nope. I still have a ton of respect for BK the coach. BK the person is a different story, but I'm also privy to a lot of information that isn't public knowledge. Nice try though...

I have grown to like UC football, and I just hope we don't see the samething happen to them as to what happpened to Louisville after Petrino left. I do think Jones will end up doing a fine job at UC though in the end. Apples and anchovies really. Most of the problems at UL were off field related and the program was left mostly in shambles. BK didn't recruit many at risk or bad kids, but he does likes to take a lot of projects and try to turn them into big time players, and that has hurt the depth as quite a few were swings and misses simply from a development standpoint. Luckily most of the top of the roster is young, so building up the depth will not be too tough unless there are major injury issues...
September 6, 201016 yr Pat Hill is always tough to beat. That was a pretty good defense. Lets see if the Bearcats respond. Fresno is a tough out, especially at home. I'd have liked to see UC get the win, but that's not a bad loss.
September 6, 201016 yr Fresno winning didn't suprise me, but UC looked absolutely helpless on offense in the 2nd half. The Big East is wide open, Pitt, UC and UConn all falling on the road this weekend.

Nice try though...It wasn't a "try" at anything, but it was interesting to see how opinions of some on here on Kelly changed the moment it went public that he was going to Notre Dame.
September 6, 201016 yr It wasn't a "try" at anything, but it was interesting to see how opinions of some on here on Kelly changed the moment it went public that he was going to Notre Dame. My opinions of him as a person changed as that played out because the sheer magnitude of his lies became more clear. My opinion of him as a coach stayed the same. Let's see how the ND folks react when he gets them back in line and bolts for his "dream" NFL job...
