Trinity 56 Lawrence North, IN 23

I am hopeful that T's defense wll markedly improve as the kids get comfortable with the new system. Sounds like this was a pretty good outing for an opener. The OL must have played well...also no turnovers and just one punt.

Not surprised T won, but definetly surprised by the margin...Lawrence North generally had a very good football team.

Congrats to the Rocks. Can't wait to see them against Cincy X and Elder.

Great game. Very good for an opener. Should help build some confidence. A fun bunch to watch. The team did some things tonight that T has not done in several years (i.e. the kick returns for TD's.) Very good overall effort. I really like the impact of taking an untested bunch of underclassman into a hostile environment on the road to 'kick off the season.' Great job !!!:thumb:

I never had any doubts about this game from the start. Trinity was the better team though LN had some skill at some positions. T needs the experience on D and that showed on the LN long runs and a couple of passes. This team has smiles on all the coaches faces.

BTY, LN is a basketball school.

Keep in mind...the Rock D has only one or two seniors getting any playing time. Ohhhhh the humanity!!

They did not play like a B-ball school last year when they came to our place and whipped us...........

Either 4 or 5 td's were scored by sophomores tonight.

Isn't that what is supposed to happen when you are playing alot of sophomores?:lol:

I swore I thought the paper showed 60 something points for T?

Nice job T. Sounds like a close game.

^ C-J has the game at 63-23.

Thank gosh...thought I was losing my mind. Well...what mind I have left!:lol::lol:

Our team struggled a little bit with playing 4 quarters last year. We were also banged up at this time. While I like this win, the 5 td's by sophomores concerns me only in that they'll need to perform like that in every game, and I'm not sure sophomores can do that. Only time will tell.

I agree. Sophs can be very frustrating at times. Plus the physical differences between a 15 or maybe 16 vs. an 18, or even 19.

They are so young but talented. We could be looking at #20, 21 & 22 in the making. Go Rocks!

I would love that. But - let's not get ahead of ourselves and certainly not "jinx" the kids. A long way to go.

Trap game this Friday. Manual has had a fair amount of "buzz" about them during the preseason. Ballard showed that they very well are a force to reckon with and now we need to see if the same holds true for M.

Go Young Rocks - take 'em one at a time.:ylsuper:

Now Jim, there you go sandbagging. Highlands will be in your rear view mirror very soon. Enjoy the ride. There are very few speedbumps for the rocks along the way as proven by this road victory over a team that beat last years very good shamrock team.

Alan;

I am trying to be realistic and 'reign in' a few of the more fervent. You know as well as I - that last year 'don't count.' New season and decidely NEW TEAM. A very, very - young new team. Trying to set reasonable expectations. After what happened the other night at your place - very scary opponents looming in the future. Hope your assessment of us is correct - but in the meantime...one at a time.

Thanks for the vote of confidence though.:D:ylsuper:
