Fort Thomas Highlands hosts Louisville DuPont Manual on Friday, August 20 (week 0). Last year this game was played in Louisville, with HHS winning 19-8. Highlands scrimmaged Louisville Trinity on August 13, losing 49-42. Manual scrimmaged Bowling Green on August 13 (although I have not seen any information about this scrimmage).

Manual is a good football team. I hope the Birds come ready to play.. Manual gave HHS fits last year..

Manual has high hopes this year. Whether they can beat HHS is another story, But If I were the Birds I would not overlook them. I hear they have some serious talent.

Even in the pre-season, the Birds are able to put up big offensive numbers on an equally storied opponent. Highlands defense will have to tackle much better to slow down Manual, particularly if they have guys who can play like Mr. 17!

Don't think there's too many who can play like him but you're right about the tackling. I'm not much for predictions but I do think the Birds will come ready to play. After all, it's the home opener!

I like the Birds at home in this one. The defense may need some work, but that offense isn't going to be stopped by ANYONE.

 

I see the Birds defense picking things up in week 0 and making a statement before the Ryle game. Offensively, I wouldn't expect to see much with Ryle coming up in week 1.

Excitement and enthusiasm is high in the Manual Camp. New Coach & Staff. Some quality atheletes. They are 'ramped up.' It will be a great challenge for both teams. Hope the game lives up to its billing. Hopefully, it will show if Manual will truly be challenging in Jefferson Co. this year. I would think the edge would have to go to HHS - tuff place to play up there.

I thought that's who you were referring to but since he quit the team at Seneca last year and didn't play, I wasn't sure if we were thinking of the same person or not.
