In those 7 or 8 free weeks on the schedule in the future-try hard to schedule some of the good Cincinnati schools-because I know that the birds don't have much cash for travelling. First of all stacking up does not mean better than them every game they play. By your definition there has never been a team that has stacked up to any competition or else they would be undefeated since they started playing football. Stacking up means they can be competitive with the team they are facing and NOT necessarily winning every single match-up ever played, Highlands has beaten Trinity St. X KY so by your definition Highlands does stack up with those teams. Again your arguement has no base.

There 2010 schedule is very weak for a team that has national champion aspirations. Their district is weak-which they cannot help. I agree they are a monster in a weak football state. They have only played Trinity twice ever. Very interesting for two teams that like to claim the top of the heap in the commonwealth. Outside of about 10 teams, kentucky football is not very good. So if you want to proclaim being so awesome-please cut the excuses and play the best schools all the time. I give Manual a lot of credit-and yes Highlands will crush them Friday, but Manual plays a big boy schedule. While Highlands has to give reasons why they play this team and that team, and this will help us in the playoffs, etc. Highlands will go undefeated and win a state championship again this year, but knowledgeable football fans know they certainly aren't scheduling up. Oh yeah, plenty of Cincinnati schools would play Highlands every year, and they'll make room on the schedule for the birds.

What I read in your post is a lot of assumptions. First of all look yes Highlands doesnt play one of the large school top teams. Kentucky football is not great but it is not horrible either. I would say KY is a middle of the road football state. I absolutly agree that this is not a national champion schedule and it will reflect back later in the seaon when Highlands wont be as much of a national title threat at the end of the year. Highlands does schedule the best schools on a consistent basis with this year being the exception.

If you take out what you think or believe or predict, then there is not basis of your arguement. You give manual all this credit but when they come back with a record like they did last year then its all for nothing. They lost the games and were irrelevant on a state championship stage. It wouldnt make sense for say St. X or Trinity to schedule the nations preseason top 10 teams because not one team in the nation would be able to make it through that schedule without a loss. There is strategy to the schedules and sometimes the strategy doesnt work out like when Highlands tried to schedule Trinity this year and were slotted to Play Cincy St. X but were dropped. a knowledgeable football fan will tell you that the goal is to be national champions and as long as it is within the rules, then why go out of the way to do it. Agree with much of what you said, and you obviously get what Dale is doing. Play an okay schedule and hope aeverybody else loses and be in the discussion. That is why I think St. X (Lou) and Trinity have an obligation to schedule Highlands every other year or so. We know the birds are going to win 5A, and one of those two is going to win 6A, so when they don't play each other in the regular season, it leaves much to be desired. In the end, the national champion discussion has only come up relatively recently, and Trinity and Highlands like to count state crowns. I just think if they played each other and then each won the state championship in their respective classes, all would know for sure who was the best.

 

I've seen a lot of football, and it sounds like you have as well, but don't agrre kentucky is avrage at the sport. I would say below average, again, except for around 10 teams or so.
