August 11, 201016 yr Anyone PO'ed at Brandon Phillips??? Nah...he just needs to step up against the Marlins.
August 11, 201016 yr Coming into this series, if I told you guys the Reds would be swept, a large majority would bet the house that Dusty was directly responsible for at least one of them. And yet here we are, looking at the sweep, and I don't think a soul on here is going to try to pin any of it on Dusty.

Just got outpitched badly and the Cards got some big hits from some unlikely players (Schumacher & Rasmus). Agree with you UKMF, time to go back to the drawing board and regroup. Crossroads for the season. Hopefully, they bounce back from this debacle.
August 11, 201016 yr Not at all. He didn't pitch bad, or miss multiple cut off guys. He stunk it up at the plate but these losses are not on Phillips. As Welsh implied, it just amped the Cards into another zone. Carpenter was on another planet. They knew they would win three after Phillips playground remarks. I suspect some of his teammates are quietly PO'ed at Phillips' childish remarks. The real question now--- will all this cause this team to spiral downward, team chemistry and all? We will see over the next two weeks. Again, Phillips... not the sharpest tool in the shed!

Also, there was no chance for him to be blamed in game two because he wasn't the manager.
August 11, 201016 yr Good teams expose weaknesses. Playing the Cubs does nothing but bolster the ego. Dont know if the day off is a good thing. Sometimes it helps more to get right back out there and play
August 11, 201016 yr Just got outpitched badly and the Cards got some big hits from some unlikely players (Schumacher & Rasmus).Rasmus is on a 25-homer pace, even in a little less than fulltime play.
August 11, 201016 yr Three-game sweep by a combined 21-8 margin ... sounds like a Great American beatdown.
August 11, 201016 yr Rasmus is on a 25-homer pace, even in a little less than fulltime play. Gets first career grand slam. Not a good hitter with RISP. Just a bad 3 days for the Reds. Rolen 0-10. Ouch.
August 11, 201016 yr Gets first career grand slam. Not a good hitter with RISP.Rasmus on the year, before his grand slam ... .250 BA, .821 OPS with RISP with 6 homers in 92 at-bats. It was hardly "unlikely" ...
