Last I saw Phillips wasn't backing down....The same can't be said regarding crybaby pansy Carpenter, who ran for the hills as soon as he saw Rolen coming after him...

In any case, if your description of the events is accurate, that would make Carpenter smarter than Rolen. Given their respective injury histories, neither one of them needs to get involved in an on-the-field scrape.

Carpenter and Rolen were the equivalent to a hockey fight where the two leading scorers simply grab each other and spin around on the ice, missing on an occasional haymaker so not to give the impression they dont want to fight while everyone else is beating the tar out of each other.

I didnt' hear Rolen speak about it, that doesn't mean that he didn't. But, Carpenter did make comments to that affect in his post-game interview.

The Rednecks are pretenders not real contenders, it's amazing you all have lasted this far into the season. The Cards are always here, outside of a lucky streak in the 70's the Reds have been nobodies so you all want to hate what you really strive to become. I and anyone else with any baseball sense at all would gladly take LaRu over Dust Buster. As for the Rednecks, isn't that what I have heard some of you all call them urselves at times, I think that is where I got it from was here.

And it is being talked about just as much in St. Louis. One of my best friends is from there and he said that Brandon Phillips instantly became the most hated person in St. Louis. I'm sure its all over the message boards there as well.
