CovCath 8th 6 Woodland 0

Again a very goof defensive effort by CovCath, I think Woodland may have only crossed mid-field twice.

On offense, like their big brothers to many mistakes and penalties on Offense.

Next week against Campbell Co,they can not make dumb mistakes.

Brossart 37 Ludlow 0. Mustangs go 2-0 on the year.

Brossart looked good to me.....

Big game this Saturday at Cov Cath with the Camels at 4:30. Camels have not been tested as of yet.

If you interested in catching a glimpse of what happens in a year or two; then come up to the DCM Stadium Thursday to catch a glimpse of Camel Fresh vs Baby Birds. I would be glad to host but I am working on getting the younger birds ready . In all seriousness good luck against the blue colonels.

Newport 36 Brossart 16 today out at Dixie. Brossart came out with a 4 wideout offense and threw the ball around and scored first but Newport answered back on their first play from scrimmage with a long td run. Brossart came back and scored again after completing a pass that was then fumbled but recovered by another mustang and ran in for the score. After that it was all Newport as they scored 28 unanswered points and the defense shut down the mustang offense for the rest of the game by picking off 3 Brossart passes.

Newport moves to 3-0 and there is a very good chance that when they meet NCC in the final game of the regular season that both teams are 6-0.

Tichenor beat Holy Cross

NCC over Holmes

Walton over Sharp

Any scores of these games?

Campbell County 16 Cov Cath 8th 14

What a great game on Saturday. Camels took the lead early but the Colonels never stopped battling. Colonels score a TD with 1:30 to go but fail to convert the 2 point. I look for these two teams to meet again in the championship game.

I heard CovCath's 7th grade beat Ludlow this weekend 34-0.

That's interesting. Ludlow is in the small school division and I'm pretty sure Cov. Cath is in the big school division. I didn't think the two divisions mixed this year.

CovCath has a team in both divisions. Their 7th grade team is in the small division and 8th grade team is in the large school.

Ah...gotcha! Thanks for the clarification. :thumb:

To an earlier post made by #5 [Ludlow's core group won the NKYFL Super Bowl 2 years ago. Nice combo of size and speed.]

To clarify - The current Ludlow Middle School team is NOT made up of the team that won the Junior Division 2 years ago at NKYFL. Yes there are a few players from that roster and maybe 1-2 regular starters from that roster at Ludlow but that's it. 85% percent or better of those kids on that superbowl team either now play for Cov Cath or TurkeyFoot. Just wanted to clarify.

Scores from this weekend?

I witnessed big slow Turkeyfoot man handle CCH today 22 - 16. Close score was NO indication of how the game was played. If Turkeyfoot doesn't drop a few passes and don't turn the ball over the margin of victory would have been larger. Also I've seen Metz run the football for the last few years [bellevue and Campbell County] and no doubt he is a great running back but that RB at Turkeyfoot is no slouch - I believe his name is Owens - he runs the ball very very hard.

All the games that were to be played at Ludlow Saturday were cancelled due to rain. Newport/Ludlow game is being made up tomorrow 6pm at Ludlow.

The only score I heard from the weekend was Campbell Co 19 Twenhofel 0. Hear Campbell is very good this year.
