Best player on the field was #1 (Jones?) for LexCath, simply an amazing player!

8th Grade Middle School Game

LexCath 7 CovCath 0

Game was stopped due to the heat index of over 104 on the field. The size difference between the LexCath kids and the CovCath kids was amazing. LexCath had some kids on their team as big as some Varsity Football players I watched play last night at Cooper!

Best player on the field #11 (Hatton?) LexCath, huge for an 8th grader (6'4") with speed to burn.

Nice to hear things went well. From what I've heard, the 7th grade Colonels are looking pretty good.

Indeed the the 7th grade kids did look good and trust me, the 8th grade team will not face a team as big as what LexCath was this season, in the NKYMSFL.

Newport beat Tichenor in their first game of the season tonight out at Lloyd by a score of 12-7. NMS lead 6-0 at the half but Tichenor came out and drove the ball down the field for a score and the extra point to take a 7-6 lead. NMS got the ball back with around 2 minutes left in the 3rd and put together a drive that took up almost the whole 4th quarter and capped it off with a game winning td run with 55 seconds left to go.

Pendleton beat Ludlow in the game before 12-2 I believe. Was 6-2 until Pendleton score with 6 seconds left in the game.

NCC Breds defeated Walton Verona 22-0.

The Ludlow Pendleton game was a good one! Lots of hard hitting and very good defense. The final was 12-2, and the game was 6-2 with 6 seconds left as Big Daddy stated.

I saw some of the second half and I would have to agree with you about the game.

CovCath's 7th grade team beat Holmes 20-0 in a really sloppy game. The Colonels are lucky that they were able to wear the Bulldogs down because their offense was offensive in the first half. The Colonels defense didn't look half bad though. CovCath's scores all came in the 4th quarter when Holmes seemed to be gased. I know the Kids are still young, but their coaches need to tell them to get upfeild quicker on outside running plays. There were quite a few times that the RBs would try and run a semi circle around the defense on outside plays rather than cutting up and getting upfeild. I saw it happen on a trap play as well. The pulling guard opened up a nice size hole, but the RB ballooned out and was tackled for a loss. I just think it's something that needed to be addressed with the youngsters. Anyways, #79 on Holmes team was an absolute MONSTER! He tossed around the opposing O and D linemen like rag dolls.

At CCMS, Brossart beat Holy Cross. I think it was 38-0.

Campbell County beat Summit View 66-0. Summit View was out sized from the beginning. Look for a lot of big plays from RB Robert Metz #33.

CovCath 8th grade 14 Turkeyfoot 6.

Turkeyfoot is very big, but slow. There QB is very good, stop him and you stop Turkeyfoot.

CovCath made to many mistakes on offense, Defensively they are very good.

Any thoughts on matchups for this weekend 8/28? Where are games being played and who vs. who?

CC sounds to be stacked.

Newport plays Walton @ Twenhoffel at 2:30pm.

Newport 32 Walton 16. Wildcats were up 32-8 before Walton scored on the cats 2nd team defense. Newport goes to 2-0 on the year.

Not sure of the score but Tichenor beat Holmes in the game before.

CovCath's 7th grade got whacked by NCC 30-0.
