Does anyone know who won the small school championship?

Tichenor

Large School Championship game final.

CovCath repeats as the Large School Champion:

CovCath 22 Turkeyfoot 16

Still don't understand or can't figure out why the Turkeyfoot Coaches just didn't keep handing the ball to young Mr. Owens #32.

Congrats to both school as this was an exciting and fun game to watch.

Yes this was a fun game to watch, undecided until the last minute.

This is the same team that lost in OT last year as 7th graders in the small school division championship game.

This CovCath team has no want you call stud's on it, they play as team and play 20-22 kids.

When they practice, their scout team could play or beat many teams.

Many teams have talent that is a mile wide but a inch deep, this CovCath team has talent maybe three quarters of mile wide bit it is a foot deep.

Turkeyfoot had only 3 or 4 kids touch the ball, CovCath had at least 7.

I talked to the coaches and players after the game, and all said Turkeyfoot had run out of gas.

Again congrats to both team, a great game and year.

Tichenor 20 NCC 16 - NCC fumbled inside its own 5 yard line to give up the first score to Tichenor. Missed opportunities throughout the game...overall this was a great game. Tichenor has a very talented team...congrads to them!

NCC has nothing to be ashamed of, Tichenor was huge across the front on both sides of the ball, causing fits for NCC most of the game. The NCC players never gave up after being down 14-0. NCC was a fun group to watch grow throughout the season as players were moved around to fill a variety of roles on the team to help the team make it to the small school championship. Congrads NCC on a great season and for winning your division championship over Newport!

How many kids does Turkeyfoot have on their team?

With all due respect I disagree about TFMS running out of gas remarks - As mentioned I was at the game and it didn't appear to me that TFMS players were tired or exhausted. As for kids and their touches with the football? I don't think any coach goes into a game stating that players X, Y, and Z have to only get so many touches or let's spread it around so everyone stays fresh. I think it's more like let's run the plays that's going to win them a championship game. From what i saw #90, #15, and #36 were the main focal points of CCH offense that night. Why not? It was working! Anyhow I'm not making excuses for the TFMS team as IMO the CCH kids were the better team that night but one has to wonder was TFMS a bit hungover from an intensity standpoint after beating Campbell County the previous week? Honestly who knows but that game was a very very physical game. Also it's a pretty tall task to win football games when you have 5 or more turnovers in any game let alone championship game! In the end the CCH kids deserved the win - and don't kid yourself - there are some excellent athletes on that team! [i mentioned just a few of them above]

After watching these two teams play each for the 3rd time this year it should make for some fun and interesting games in the upcoming H.S. years!

Never understood why they needed these rules. Can't they just play football.

Agree totally. Play football, these rules nothing but water down the game for the players who are suppose to be learning to prepare for High School football. I coached at every level of football up to high school varsity and these rules are undermining the game. They need to be changed yesterday!

CovCath will be honoring the 8th Grade team at halftime of the game on Saturday.
