Blood Pressure

Featured Replies

I am sure that many of you all suffer from high blood pressure. My problem is low blood presure. Any one else have problems with this? What do you do? Thanks for any info or help.

I have the same problem, Goldie. My doctor says don't worry about it. But it's hard not to when the nurses take your BP 3 times then ask for someone else to do it.

My wife has the same problem and she is one of the most high strung, stressed out, sodium loving freak that I know.

I attribute the low BP scores of goldie and Mrs. bugatti to the calm, endearing love exhibited by their husbands.

I on the other hand watch my salt intake, work out frequently, compete in marathons and triathlons and mine is high :irked:

My daughter, while not an extreme fitness freak, nevertheless is in very good shape (except for a bad back), really watches what she eats. Runs a lot, works out 5 times a week, etc. Her BP usually hangs aroud 100/65 or so. Not abnormally low, but lower than "average".

Maybe some salt and stress will do you some good.

I have lots of both of these. Eat salt like it is going out of style.

Normal for me is usually 90/60. But the last few weeks it has been lower. Today it was 71/45.

Do you ever feel lightheaded, dizzy, or have you fainted? Low blood pressure isn't as bad as high, but it can have dangerous long term effects if it occurs for a long period of time.

Have you spoken with your MD?

My girlfriend has low blood pressure and had to take medication for it for a while. Mine is on the low side, but that's good because just about everyone in my family has a history of high blood pressure.

One of my employees came to work the other day and stated her blood pressure was 66/50!!!!! I'm not making this up. She said she felt like she was going to pass out so she called her doctor. The doctor of course told her to come in but in the mean time told her to eat chocolate and to drink caffeinated beverages. The doctor has since put here on blood pressure medicine and her blood pressure has climbed back closer to normal levels. I didn't realize low blood pressure was such a common problem. If I could combne my blood pressure with hers we'd both have a good average blood pressure. :D

Was at my last yearly physical, which is due in Aug. So I will be seeing my Dr and have all the blood worked done. Only medicine I take is a allergy pill and calcium 600 + D.

Yes, but not lately.

Exactly what my husband and son said.

If you are having those symptoms a check up might not be a bad idea. Remember, all of your vital organs depend on the heart to pump enough blood to them consistently.

I've got a friend who lost a lot of weight. When this happened he had to stop taking meds for high blood pressure per his Dr. because it was too low. His is fine now.
