I have to wonder why the WH asked her to step down if this was nothing more than a lie. Are they that inept?

 

The WH is saying they didn't have anything to do with the firing.

 

However, lets assume they did. If so, it was because we are so reactionary today that real thought doesn't ever enter into our decisions. We don't take a minute to ask "why did he stop that video so abruptly?" Essentially, society is stupid.

No argument here. It seems to be growing more common. That or it's just getting more attention.

I am terribly disappointed that I did not stick to my guns earlier. I have now seen the entire video and Breitbart is a punk. The video painted her in the exact opposite light of who she is. PATHETIC.

 

As to the the TP video, I re-watched it and did not see one single NAME attached to the video singling a person out as racist. I will be willing to bet it did not cost a single person their job.

 

Breitbart is the worst kind of journalist.

I wish that I had stuck to my guns earlier, too. On my first post in this thread (concerning it only being a 2 minute clip) I had typed out a scenario that ended up being very similar to what the full video turned out to be.

 

I wonder if Breitbart has any other video that he wishes to put out there?

Why would he let it go that far if he doctored it? That would be beyond stupid.

A journalist he ain't ... let's not defame them by referring to him as one.

First, Breibart makes money off of Fox News. He isn't going to send the entire video because he wouldn't get paid because Fox wouldn't be interested.

 

The part he did show is no different than a recovered drug addict telling the story about him stealing in the past to support his drug habit. What we wouldn't have heard is that he learned from his mistakes and made amends and changed his ways.

 

I saw the rest of the video today on CNN and it was obvious she was telling a story that she learned from and that she was wrong 24 YEARS AGO. Heck, she then went onto say she worked with the family for 2 years to help them keep their farm. The wife was on TV today backing her up.

 

Whoever made the decision to fire her based on Breibart's video fell right into Breibart's trap. If it was from the WH then they were wrong as well. The NAACP president falls into the trap as well.

 

One more example of how both sides of the spectrum disgust me.

As for the bolded, I'm sure he does, and I'm sure that Fox News and the legions of folks whose knees jerk to the same drumbeat will eat it up.

 

Some folks will ALWAYS, without fail, react that way. Just as some will ALWAYS do so on the other side of the political spectrum. It's a shame that so many will accept a 2-minute sound bite as the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Or worse, KNOW that there's more to the story, but choose not to divulge it. But that seems to be the way of the world these days.

Here's the difference as I see it. There are indeed racists in the Tea Party. Some generalize and smear the entire group unfairly based on a few. Generalization would be the crime.

A liberal Democrat resigns under pressure from a liberal Democratic White House and a liberal Democratic organization. If they we're smarter, they would have investigated before pressuring her to resign. In a nut shell, it wasn't entirely Breitbart.
