They will sign their second round draft picks (Dexter Pittman, Jarvis Varnado, DeSean Jackson) and they would most likely try to get some older players. I think in the Bill Simmons article he mentioned that because of the possible impending lockout in 2011 you won't see any role players taking less money to come play with the Superfriends.

I wonder how long 2 alpha males can play together despite their success. Kobe and Shaq lasted what....6-8 years and got 3 titles. This Superfriends scenario will be intriguing to say the least.

If Wade, Bosh, and LBJ all just took 1 mil less, they would be able to keep Beasely through the final year of his contract. This is why Bosh and Wade haven't signed their contracts yet. They're waiting to see what Lebron does.

See, that's the thing. LeBron really isn't a true alpha male. At least, he doesn't always play like one.

If all three take the max deal (48mil), then Beasley 5mil and Chalmers 500K, they are at 53.5 mil and I elieve that brings the luxury tax. They could keep Beasley but he has one year left and would be easy to trade to free some cap. Then they could add some vets to take the league min which doesn't count against the tax. It'll e interesting to see what type of vets they can bring in with the lockout looming.

I don't think they can all take the max. The way they are project they will be taking about a million less a piece, and with Beasley and Chalmers, along with the phanton roster spots assessed they still have a little over 1.5 million to spend, as far as I've seen.

They've already done the math. Basically they can all take the max if Beasley is traded, if not then they can't.

IMO, if LeBron wants to win, he has only 2 options. Chicago and New Jersey. Either of those two add him and they are the best team in the East. In Miami, it's going to be the Big Three and a bunch of "mop up time" guys, and I just don't think it'll get it done.

 

I agree somewhat. I think those two teams may have been better positioned to win right now. But, Miami may be able to put some pieces in place this off-season to strengthen the roster. Long-term, I have no doubt Miami was the best option, because no other team has a combo as talented as Wade and Lebron. Surely they'll get the roster in better shape with time.
