Howard and Gonzalez made it over him. Votto is having arguably the best season by any first baseman.

Gonzalez was the Padre's only selection, but they still could have put Votto in there. They will be using the DH in this year's game.

Votto is one of the 5 finalist you can vote on for the final spot on the NL team. Let's get busy, and vote for him 25 times a day, and more than that if you have more than 1 e-mail address.

You would think Joey V. would have passed his audition with Chalie Manual. It wasn't like Votto didn't smoke the Phils earlier in the week. On Monday he had 3 hits including a double. On Tuesday he hit a two out 3 run homer in the 9th to tie the game. On Wednesday he started the comeback rally win a solo shot off Halladay.

We all know the All Star team isn't the best players, but a popularity contest. Votto is unknown to so many people outside Cincinnati, it's not fair, but it's the system we have.

Hopefully he will get the fan vote, as everyone has said, he deserves to go.
