I think LBJ signs with Cleveland, three year deal, and if they don't win a title he leaves at the age of 28 for a very large deal.

I spoke with Lebron on facebook chat the other night, and he's leaning toward a team nobody has even put in the conversation. He said it was a personal favor from a respected freind whom he's known for some time. He didn't want to get into it though because he was tired so I didn't poke and prod too much.

Lebron and Bosh in Chi Town.

I agree....

Technically they can offer more money to a FA because of the sign and trade. But, who would want most of the crap on their roster. I could see Toronto taking Hickson and others if Bosh wants to go there, but I don't know if CB would want to come to the beautiful city of Cleveland. I hope he does.

For the post above this, the money he could make in NY or NJ more than makes up for $2M a year so you helped make my point. LBJ will have the option to opt out after 3 years and my guess as you know is he'll take that option. Bosh is the one that wants that 6th year and the extra $2M a year now b/c he doesn't have the endorsement opps that LBJ has. Did you see this article about the Knicks? Great pitch IMO, but it had to help the Nets:

For this post Cleveland would have to give up Hickson and Anderson V. Those are two of the only guys I could see helping LBJ and Bosh win a title in Cleveland.

Maybe I made you point, but I was just pointing out the facts. You said he only would leave 22 on the table and that isn't true. Maybe he makes that up in endorsements, but 30 million is alot to give up and chance.

I don't know why people keep talking about endorsments and stuff. Lebron is going to get that if he was playing in Covington, KY. It doesn't matter where he goes he will get all the endorsments he wants.

One money factor is that in Miami they don't have state taxes so you keep more money than if you were in New York where the state tax is getting ready to double.

Probably a small factor if that but something I'd think about if it were up to me.

How much demand is there for King James Goetta? :D

True, but there are lot more local businesses that may solicit his services that you would never hear of unless you were in that market.

But still, the key to endorsements and building his brand is to win titles. Jordan was a huge get, but not until he started winning titles did the Jordan brand go to the next level.

It's being talked about b/c that was the Knicks pitch to him.

What I don't understand is people always bringing up $30M he would leave on the table. He is only signing a 3 year deal if the insiders info is correct on this.

The market does make the difference for endorsements. More exposure for the player. Winning is also a major factor. As I mentioned the Nets with the Russian owner will offer him the best overall package. He just has money to blow in order to win a championship.

How can LBJ get "more" exposure? Is there some 18 yr old kid in NJ that doesn't know who he is yet will when he signs with the Nets? Is there some guy thinking about a sports drink in Brooklyn that would suddenly buy G2 if only he had heard of LBJ?

I think that's one of the things LeBron's crew has said according to the reports. LBJ isn't sure how much the NY market would help his global icon if at all. It doesn't matter I don't think.

Yes and I heard the same thing in another report.

The report is quite vague and I don't necessarily buy it without some more supporting details.
