June 8, 201016 yr The issue tonight started with Cueto throwing belt high meatballs that allowed the Giants hitters to get in a groove. The guys that pitched the 7th didn't get blasted, but a few soft liners that landed for hits piled up. I'll remember how high of a pedestal you hold Masset and Cordero next time they get roughed up... My biggest complaint with Massett and Coco is that they try to nibble instead of going after hitters with their best stuff. They are starting to pitch like Weathers but he had to do that because he couldn't blow a fastball by anyone. Whose job is it to tell these 2 guys to stop nibbling and throw the fastball more, Welsh, Brantley, Brennaman? They all see it but why do these guys continue to do it.

June 8, 201016 yr This year by no means but you better go back and look at last year's numbers for Herrera. Herrera has never pitched well in clutch situations. He wasn't used hardly at all last season with the game on the line. He's fine as a guy to bring in down a couple or with a big lead but by no means is he a set up guy.

He was certainly much better than some of the guys they are running out there right now.

Bottomline is this team has 1 reliable arm in the pen, and he happens to be 40 and a situational lefty....They absolutely need to address the bullpen and do it soon. LeCure going out there will help, but that alone won't cut it. They have the pieces available if they want to make a move, but how much are they willing to give up?

June 8, 201016 yr I just say use him when you need him. Would you have used Herrera to face the 2 righties leading off the 7th? There's not a single poster on here that would have brought in Herrera in that situation.
