June 5, 201016 yr The Reds have the start of a really good pen. Cordero is fine as a closer and they have the best left handed reliever in the game. They need one guy to step up big in the set up role and then try and trade for another good bullpen arm.

It wasn’t, and the Nationals two-run rally was off and runinng. With a runner at first, Bernadina hit a routine flyball to left-center. Left fielder Jonny Gomes was under it. But center fielder Drew Stubbs collided with him, knocking the ball loose. “I didn’t hear him call it,” Gomes said. “I called it four times. That’s what I try to do. Big park, loud park. He didn’t hear me.” Said Stubbs: “He told me after the fact that he called it early and was there. But, as a center fielder, any time there’s any doubt, I got to go try and take the ball. I never heard him call it. If I’d have heard that, I’d have let him have it. . . I came up and started yelling late, and apparently he didn’t hear me.” Gomes thought the ball was his. “Runner of first, if he tags, I’ve got the best angle to throw it to second,” Gomes said. “If he’s got too much of a lead, I’ve got the best angle to throw it back to first. I was ready to catch it. “He told me he didn’t hear me call it. That’s fine. But that kind of stuff gets on my last nerve. We have to have that communication. . . Hope it doesn’t happen again.”
