Track the Reds (Week 9)

Featured Replies

I think everyone pretty much had this chalked up as a loss, and it shows you how important last night's win was. I thought LeCure was solid again, and I agree with spindoc that he should stay up here, and pitch out of the pen when Bailey comes back. The Reds go to Washington for 3, while the Cards stay at home to play the Brewers for three. Let's hope the Reds can stay at least tied for 1st as they head home for a big 4 game series against the Giants.

Cards had a HUGE break when that ball hit Rolen changed the tone of that inning and the game big time. Carp is turning into Oswalt against the Reds.

I would much rather see Burton or Chapman in the pen than LeCure.

Looks like we will miss Lincecum which is good.

Sure beats facing him, but the Reds will still have their work cut out for them. The Giants have a very formidable staff.

If Burton is healthy then he would be a great addition.

Cain and Zito have been just as good as Tiny Tim this year.

Drew Stubbs has hit .284 in the last month (27/95) with 5 HR, 19 RBI & he's netted 2 stolen bases.

I think tonight was his 22nd game hitting 7th, which ties him for the # of times he's hit leadoff. After 21 games (not including tonight) in the 7th spot, he was hitting .338 with 4 HR, 20 RBI and 1 SB. He had an OBP of .388.

I can't believe he's on the major league roster.

Anyone else a little worried about Rhodes and the ankle/foot. He finished the inning but it looks like it was bothering him. He would be a huge blow to our bullpen.

Unless I miscounted, the Cards had 4 broken bat hits that plated 3 runs in the last 2 games. Snakebit.

Losing Rhodes wuouldn't be a good thing, at this point the entire bully has me concerned. Luckily they have a ton of SP depth, and hopefully Voltron can ease back into the rotation and add to that depth. Chapman will be a nice addition but you have to be concerned with his 5 BB/game average. Ondrusek has a better AAA WHIP than Arlodis, and he's shown to be a AAAA pitcher.

^ I have a feeling we might see Volquez in the bullpen when he comes back if the rotation stays solid like it has been.

How big is the upcoming series with Washington? I really feel like the Reds really need to win this series.

John Fay and Walt Jocketty have that same feeling.
