June 6, 201016 yr Is Mike Leake a witch??? Here are some stats for you In the 6 games he did not get a decision his ERA is 1.62 In his last 8 games including tonight his ERA is 1.56 His ERA now stands at 2.22 and his batting average is .417 I get the feeling the Reds may have the next Greg Maddux. I know it's early but he is a stud. His composure is unreal, it seems effortless for him. He can flat pitch and has great command of his pitches and the strike zone. Maddux had a rough first 2 years 5.52 and 5.61 era's but didn't pitch 3 years of college ball. I love the story of playing with Ike Davis at ASU and they would go back and forth between 1B and Pitcher in the middle of an inning if they had a better matchup. I'm sure he may fall off a little but with his style and not being a power pitcher I see him being a great pitcher for a long time.
June 6, 201016 yr WAY TO GO, BP!!!! I was as excited about that play as any I've seen for the Reds in a while. Loved it.
June 6, 201016 yr I said at the beginning of the week that I would be happy with a 3-3 road trip. The Reds have a chance to make that happen tomorrow.
June 6, 201016 yr I think everybody at the ballpark, and everybody watching the game knew that Phillips was going to get drilled in the 9th inning.
June 6, 201016 yr I think everybody at the ballpark, and everybody watching the game knew that Phillips was going to get drilled in the 9th inning. As well he should have. I love the hustle plays he made tonight but the chest bumping was a little much. I think he just got caught up in the moment and was jacked up. The TV guys pretty much said the same thing. With that said I'll take Phillips on my team all day long.
June 6, 201016 yr Phillips was on third. Ground ball to short caused a play at the plate, BP ran over the catcher knocking the ball loose. As he goes back and touches home he claps his hands and pounds his chest. Nationals proceed to drill him right in the hip his next AB. Phillips takes off down to first, not even looking at the pitcher. The pitcher got tossed
June 6, 201016 yr I don't mind anything Phillips did there. He hit his chest but it wasn't at anyone and didn't taunt anyone directly at all. If a pitcher strikes a guy out and hits his chest or fist pumps, then you aren't thinking he showed you up are you? Anyone who has ever played anything competitive knows that is a intense part of the game and things like that never bothered me at all.

June 6, 201016 yr It would be nice to see Arroyo put one between someones numbers today. I nominate No. 44, just for laughs.
