I love Oswalt, but haven't about half his wins come against the Reds? This trade wipes out his prime victim if he comes to Cincinnati.

Of course you could look at it that the Reds might win another couple games this season because of NOT having to possibly face Oswalt.

Trading probably at best a #3... MAYBE a #2 a BIG maybe for an Ace...

Mariners are listening to offers for Cliff Lee, how about that?

That literally could make the Reds a legitimate NL favorite. Phillies being the current favorite, IMO.

IMO ... the Astros would not take Bailey for Oswalt and the Reds would not take on Oswalt's salary. So to make a deal it would need to be Harang AND Bailey for Oswalt. How does that hit everyone?

Do it and bring up Chapman in 2 months. Sell some tickets. No one likes watching Harang pitch anymore and I'll take Oswalt's experience over Homer and Harang's inconsistency. Chapman could be like shooting fish in a barrel but I think he has the potential to (this year) be as good if not better than Harang and Oswalt is better that Homer. I like the sound of Leake, Cueto, Oswalt, Chapman, and Arroyo.

In a 5 or 7 game series, the Phillies and even Cardinals would still be better.

The Astros would never take on Harang's salary. Harang's inclusion does nothing to sweeten the pot.

I think you also would have to look at getting Oswalt as getting 4 wins a season because he's not pitching against them not to mention the wins he would get vs other teams. Cliff Lee is the better pitcher but health concerns.

I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't do it. Oswalt is still a great pitcher, but he just makes too much money. The Reds simply cannot afford him, and the Astros aren't going to give him up for just Homer Bailey.

If I was the Astros, I'd ask for two to three of the following: Chapman, Bailey, Stubbs, Bruce or Votto. I'd also consider Heisey or Frazier, but if one of those two are included then it'll take 3 players.

Won't happen.

Apparently Oswalt has targeted the Yankees, Phillies & Cardinals. This may be the 1st time I've ever pulled for the Yanks.

I'd do it in a heartbeat.
