Purple Pride you should become the team manager, or the team stats man, you know so much about them. All I got to say is you better win it next year, because after this class leaves IT'S OVER. Well, first off I'll say thanks. I wish I could have some kind of role with the football team. It would be my pleasure to work for the Rebels any way they asked me to in order for me to support the Rebels. However I am much closer to the basketball program and I am needed in different capacities for the basketball team so my time would be limited when it comes to being able to be there to support the football team as a member of the staff. Thirdly, my son will be a junior next year and seeing how he has been in the Boyle County system since Kindergarten, well, let's just say that I know at least 50% of the team and 2 of the coaches fairly well. Once my son graduates I will not be 'jumping off the bandwagon' but I will likely only make it to the home games. Lastly I'll add that we will not fall off like Danville did. Not only has the group behind this class been getting better every year but we also have better coaches than Danville that will not let a collapse like your mighty Ads have had take place at Boyle County. I do feel our talent level may drop a little when they graduate, thats when real coaching kicks in. French and his staff of head coaches will develop those young men just as they have in the past.

Yes, you are right. I think it is great for the entire community to have 2 schools that can claim a tradition in football thus the name TitleTown. I still think things can be turned around at Danville this year with the right attitude from the players. That being said, would it shock you if Boyle County made it to 11 titles before Danville? I think the race to 11 will be a tight one.

You sound a little young because your facts on "the streak" are a little off.

 

The streak was from 1980 to 1996. The number of games was 19 but the years were 16. :thumb: (BTW, I know because I was a Rebel Senior on that '80 squad. Which also means our teams went 2-2 vs. the Admiral program)

 

BTW, some tidbits to go with that aura of superiority:

 

* Since that playoff game in 1996 the record between the two is Boyle leading the series 10-4.

 

* Of Danville's last 3 State Champions (2000, 2001, 2003) those Ads teams only lost 4 games in those combined three seasons. Three of those losses were to the Rebels in each season.

 

No non-Admiral respects and roots for the Ads anymore than I but your quick "oh, yeah" retort was a little much to be let stated without comment. :sssh:

This part of the season is where Boyle County makes it happen. Off-season workouts are vital and an important part of what you do in the regular and post season. The Boyle County coaching staff realizes that, as any staff should, and works hard to get to where they need to be. I expect a great season of football. Now only if it would hurry!
