I can see Zach Hester or Tommy Hastings taking over at qb in 2011 as seniors or Casey Whittle as a junior next year(2011) but I'd say Devan Hale has the starting job locked down this year. I kind of expect Tommy Hastings to end up as the number 2 qb this year. Putting Hester at qb means we lose an offensive weapon.

Could there be a Florida approach Hale throwing and a little running with Hester coming in and running and maybe throwing a little. Just a thought.

Our best offensive weapon will be our defense. 3 and out and give the ball back to the offense. As good as we was last year on D, IMO we will be even better this year. I'll even go out on a limb and say our defense will score more TD's than they give up for the 10 regular season games.

That's a fair assessment. I agree with everything you said. I was even saying that Boyle County's defense will be their bread n' butter. They will win games because of their defense.

I am actually against it. Hale is and can be an effective runner if needed. Hester is not a threat to throw the ball at all(at least not as of today he isn't. That could change though). If he lines up behind center, everyone knows what is coming. Hester was so good as another threat when we got him the ball I'd hate to see him having to try to make plays by himself as the qb. Wasn't he the second leading scorer on the team last year? I seem to recall that his first 3 or 4 touches were long td runs or receptions. I could be wrong but he'd turn a screen pass into a 60 yard td and he did that on multiple occasions.

I agree if French and company can fill the holes on the O line Devin will shine. With only Coffman an all area Center and Priest coming back they will be good anchors but the holes may be hard to fill.

I think one of the things that seperates Boyle County from the rest of the pack is the fact that they simply reload. I know the coaches will be able to replace some of the line. Now, Rees Macshara will be really hard to replace because he was obviously a big part of the offense but Boyle County will run a style of offense that best suits them. I know the coaches will do whatever it takes to be back on top again. Go Rebels! :thumb:

Does anyone know when 7 on 7 play begins and where the Rebels might be going? I think that we might get some hint as to who the #2 QB might be then? So far it has looked like Whittle has been getting the #2 snaps in the June voluntary workouts.

Was Zach Hester or Tommy Hastings at these workouts? Basketball was going full blast until Dead Period started. As hard as they worked for basketball I'd be surprised if they did much of anything for football. Whittle could be number 2 by default for the time being until after Dead Period.

I think the first 7 on 7 is July 12th at Union. I believe one more will be scheduled later next month as well.

There was "talk" about a couple of guys from out of state who moved to the area. Did anything pan out with them coming out for the team? Just curious.
