May 6, 201016 yr Count me among the uncivilized. I like Nord's Bakery. We are heathens. PepRock is a cretin.
May 6, 201016 yr I take my little ones to Emerson's at least once a month and let them pick out a couple donuts..They act like it is Christmas..:ylsuper: Where is Emersons? Back in the day Wiedemans in Ft. Thomas used to be the place. Busken by far is the best that I am familiar with but I gave up donuts unless someone else buys them and they are right in front of me. LOL
May 6, 201016 yr 2 real good ones in Frankfort. Magees downtown has been family owned for years. Also Poppie's is wonderful, just got a birthday cake there for my son yesterday.

May 6, 201016 yr Spalding's on Winchester Rd. in Lexington has the best doughnuts I have ever had!!! Glazed and Glazed Chocolate Iced are heavenly! :thumb: Easily the best doughnuts I've ever tasted.
May 6, 201016 yr Magee's on Orangeburg Road (just outside of Maysville) has been owned by the same family for years. Transparent tarts, red velvet cake are a couple of their specialties. :thumb:
May 6, 201016 yr There's a bakery at the bottom of Hands Pike in Norther Kentucky called Bakery Barn. Their donuts are very good.
May 6, 201016 yr Where is Emerson's? Manyet, my favorite bakery of all time, is no longer around. These days, I go to Bernhard's in Newport on York St. It is in Erlanger on the corner of Dixie Hwy and Stevenson road.
May 6, 201016 yr It is in Erlanger on the corner of Dixie Hwy and Stevenson road. Also 2 locations in Florence. One on Hwy. 25, and one on the corner of Weaver & 42.
May 6, 201016 yr Count me among the uncivilized. I like Nord's Bakery. I disagree. For the money, I think Bussman's trumps Plehn's. We are heathens. PepRock is a cretin. Both are tasty no doubt, but neither are as good. Besides if you disagree with me you are, by definition, wrong.
May 6, 201016 yr The Cookie Jar Bakery in Newport was always good. Not sure if they're still there or not. There was another little place in Newport that we went to when I was little. It was awesome. Can't remember the name, but it was down around 6th & Overton. Edited May 6, 201016 yr by Birdsfan

I am so bummed that it is not around anymore.
