April 30, 201016 yr How many is that? 4 in a row? St. Louis looming. I like Phillips in the 2 spot of the lineup. I think the 2 spot for Phillips is a spot, that a lot of us have mentioned on here before. It took Dusty long enough to finally realize, he probably would be better off out of that 4 spot.
April 30, 201016 yr Chris Heisey will likely be called up tomorrow in place of Dickerson. What happened to Dickerson?
April 30, 201016 yr What happened to Dickerson? Something with his wrist that has been bothering him for a little bit now apparently.
April 30, 201016 yr I found it interesting that when I looked two days ago, the Reds had scored the second most runs in the NL Central. As much as we have talked about our offense not being that great, we still have scored more than other teams in the Central besides the Brewers. The pitching up until the last 4 games, has been the main problem.
April 30, 201016 yr ^ BP has better numbers hitting at 4 than 2, but I agree with you guys. And he's played all of what, five games in the No. 2 hole?
April 30, 201016 yr And he's played all of what, five games in the No. 2 hole? 81 games .252 AVG OBP under .300
April 30, 201016 yr Here is the Reds boxscore from that day in April 2006 when they last beast Oswalt before tonight. Looking at the lineup, what memories  Cody Ross. That might be the only game he played in for the Reds. I know it wasn't many at all.
April 30, 201016 yr I read some concern over Mike Leake's pitch count so far this year in his four starts being over 400 already. Any concerns here from BGP Reds fans? I don't know enough about keeping a pitcher's arm healthy to adequately comment, I just know I want the kid to have a long productive career and I hope there isn't much to this worry. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/daugherty/2010/04/29/the-morning-line-429/?source=nletter-nletter-sports It is a short comment about 1/3 of the way down the article.

Leake's pitch counts have been 106, 99, 93 and 105 ... nothing that looks like a problem so far. If Dusty starts pushing him over the 110 mark on a regular basis, I would start to get a bit concerned.

It took Dusty long enough to finally realize, he probably would be better off out of that 4 spot. I think, or should I say hope it helps Phillips change his approach. Two hits last night. He has speed to steal bases his head is another question... Dusty needs to read Bluegrasspreps more often

If Dusty starts pushing him over the 110 mark on a regular basis, I would start to get a bit concerned. I don't see any problem with his pitch count so far. As westrider said, as long as they don't pitch him where he is going over the 110 mark regularly, then I think he is fine. If anything I take this as a good thing. He is a rookie who is pitching in the Major Leagues, right after college. You don't see that to often, and with him getting to about 100 pitches each start, it shows that he is doing pretty well so far.

If Dusty starts pushing him over the 110 mark on a regular basis, I would start to get a bit concerned. My thoughts exactly. I read the headlines of that article yesterday and didn't even bother to click on it because it's not a problem. The only legitimate point that one might have is that Leake isn't used to the 162 game grind and could wear out by late July or so...
April 30, 201016 yr Heisey is expected to be called up. John Fay keeps saying that he can hit lead off, but I don't understand why we continue to bring guys up and insert them into the leadoff spot. It sounds like Dickerson is headed to the DL (again). Ryan Hanigan has an OBP over .500...
