Good words, thanks! Same way the protected us vs. Great Britian. Its something you take for granted til you need it, then its far too late. Even our government puts the control of the military into a few peoples hands. Right to bear arms is important to protect if other safeguards fall through.

I understand the right to bear arms. I appreciate this right for those not convicted of felonies or violent crimes. However, I have no problem requiring carry & conceal permits at all. I have to register my car, my dog, and everything else, ... I don't see this is as a problem. I am a conservative, but I don't see where having to register these or have a permit is an issue.

2. Other countries are not the US. Our representatives value keeping their power and jobs in DC and they know they would never get re-elected if they banned guns.

No, I have common sense, but its a little harder considering and planning something knowing that in each home the people are armed and can protect themselves. Bombing your people with F-16's may be enough to wake up the anti-gunners though to the realization hey owning a gun is a pretty good right.
