It's not that I don't want to respect their view. But there's no logic to it, IMO. It seems to me that if one is legitimately supporting constitutional rights, one would WANT the right to have integrity. Not taking safeguards that ensure that guns aren't legally allowed for people with criminal pasts or such makes sure that the "other side" has ammunition for their position.

 

I believe that ALL of our rights come with responsibility. There is no thing as free speech, for instance, with no strings attached. The same principle applies to all of our rights.

 

To me its the right to bear arms is clear cut, you should not need a permit to carry a gun just as you should not need a permit or special class to speak your mind or worship as you wish.

Those who oppose the second amendment live under a false sense of security in our country..... I say it in every thread that gets started... No one invades the US ever, our country is pretty safe many folks still do not lock doors....Our country truly is ran by us.... not always the way we want but its a pretty fair place we live in. A lot of these things are the way they are due to the fact we an armed society.

While I don't think we'll ever see a gun ban the 4th amendment would still be in effect should such a ban come about. Drugs are illegal. Po Po can't just storm your house looking for weed.

Guns will never be banned. That is NRA scare tactics and hype. Permits should be required. Citizens who commit crimes lose their rights and should not be able to walk into a store and buy a gun. Requiring permits and screening purchases does not diminsh my rights.

I mean its just common sense to me hard to explain for me to someone who does not see it. Look at history and those countries and socieities that have been took over, overthrown, genocide, etc... etc.. any other negative thing....and see if they were an armed society???

 

To me it is much bigger than getting mugged or robbed its about protecting the form of government and the way we believe in the US, another form of checks and balances in our government and from outside forces.

No one said it would, point is if they were to become illegal and you had to register your guns before that they could legally search your home if you didn't turn all them in.

Plenty of citizens from other countries thought the same thing, now they can't own guns.

 

The Constitution says nothing about permits being required, so I see Arizona doing nothing wrong.

It is naive to believe that the other countries are unarmed. They may not have the procedural safeguards & laws in place to regulate guns (and their usage), but other countries are not unarmed. In fact, I'd imagine that most, if not all, of the countries that have been taken over, overthrown, used genocide, etc. have relied primarily on guns & other weapons. But that is neither here nor there.
