FKW, I'm not sure if you checked these out back when I posted the video initially, but if you haven't checked out Megafaun, I've got a feeling that their album Gather, Form & Fly would be right in your wheelhouse. I could be wrong, but I was spinning that again last night and that kind of occurred to me out of the blue. From what I've heard, their new self-titled album is a little bit of a change from what they've done in the past, but regardless, Gather, Form & Fly is pretty awesome. I've had it on my turntable quite a bit as of late.

I gave it a listen last night and definitely enjoyed it. There were a couple of tracks I wasn't crazy about but overall solid album. Thanks for the heads up!

The new self titled album from Bon Iver is pretty solid, although it's not as great as For Emma, Forever Ago.

 

Anybody given this much of a listen? I liked it the first couple of spins I gave it, but then it lost its appeal pretty quickly. Gave it a spin again last night and a couple of the songs REALLY hit me. I'm gonna give this one a few more rounds for the time being to see if it sticks this time.

I've heard some of the songs and they're OK, but nothing special. Didn't really wow me.

I'm with Jim. It was nothing like For Emma, Forever Ago for me.

I don't think Foster The People have been mentioned yet in this thread. Their entire CD is good, not 1 song that you'll need to skip.

 

Not positive if it was this thread but I know they've been mentioned on here by me. Love their latest album and "Pumped Up Kicks" was one of the better songs this summer.

I've had American Goldwing, the latest by Blitzen Trapper in heavy rotation the last week. It has a very '70's rock feel. Several songs remind me of The Band quite a bit. Something I would highly recommend to anyone. My personal favorite from the album is "Love The Way You Walk Away".

I can't stop listening to Watch the Throne by Jay Z and Kanye. Best hip hop/rap cd I have heard in quite some time.

Hmmm...just found out that Jason Isbell is doing a solo acoustic set at Headliners on Sunday, December 4th. I'll be returning from Wales the day before, so I'm assuming I'll be jetlagged like mad, but I might have to see if I can't swing that show... Especially for just 15 bucks.

I run a mini marathon in Memphis on the 3rd. I'll be trying to make that one though. Speaking of Isbell, his video for "Alabama Pines" just came out.
