March 23, 201016 yr Audio or Video? And why on Earth would anyone want copies of all 72 shows of a band tour? Or 70, or 65? For most bands, I understand that mentality... But every Pearl Jam show is completely different -- They rarely repeat the same setlist... So every one is totally unique. Sometimes they break out songs that they haven't played in years, they're all a treat. I would own them all if I could afford it. I understand not everyone shares that opinion.
March 23, 201016 yr I must say I'm pretty surprised at the dislike for Pearl Jam... Most people I've ever known either liked them or were completely indifferent. Few had actually just come out and said they don't like them -- Until now.
March 23, 201016 yr Yeah, all the shows are audio. As Hangman said, each show really is different. They tend to do 27 songs a night and while they might perform several off of whatever new album they have, everything else after that is up in the air. To be honest, I didn't pay for all these. They are available through various message boards and stuff. I simply had to pay for the external hard drive to store them all and slowly burn them on to discs over time. In the 2000 tour, for instance, they did a show in Memphis and they broke out a cover "Can't Help Falling in Love". I went to their website to see what other times it was performed and it was only been peformed live twice, both on that 2000 tour. At the Cincinnati show in 2000, they played "Kids are Alright" and while Eddie didn't say specifically why, he said the name Cincinnati came up for difficult reasons and we will play this because of our new bond. Obviously referring to the Roskilde tragedy from a few months before when several Pearl Jam fans died at a concert and the comparison to the Who tragedy in Cincinnati. The 2003 tour is infamous because while Pearl Jam is known for stating their political beliefs, they had fans walk out of a performance in Denver when they performed Bushleager. It got to the point halfthrough the US portion of the tour they stopped performing the song, they never meant to upset anyone, but just decided it was best to not perform it again. Pear Jam really hasn't been "popular" since the VS album. Starting with Vitalogy, they started getting away from doing what was popular and almost isolating themselves from people, that was around the time they had the fight with Ticketmaster over surcharge fees and didn't have a proper tour again until 1998. So while this last album, Backspacer, did debut #1, most of their albums sell to the die hard fans nobody "casual". Alright, I know this thread isn't about Pearl Jam, so I will try and stop. :lol:

I think you and I could be best friends!:lol: Seriously, I'm so disappointed in the amount of dislike for Pearl Jam. But music is a personal taste, so to each his own.

Sadly, it wasn't until recently that I have come to truly appreciate their awesomeness (awesomeness may not be an actual word but it seems appropriate anyway).
