My guess is this is the 14u Tarheels. They finished 9th in the nation (and if I am wrong on the exact finish I am sure it will be pointed out) and best in Kentucky last year, so they should be playing up in local tournaments.

I believe 8th grader from Highlands Nick True 6'5 215 is on the 14U Tar Heels. Nick has improved his game and will develop into a nice player.

Kevin Bundy will be coaching an all new 15U Shining Stars team in NKY this summer. Some very athletic kids have joined this team and will be a force to contend with.

I didn't see them listed in any of the Battle of the Borders pools.

They aren't. Kids haven't had any practice time as of yet. Start this week.

I don't think they will ever eliminate it but I wish they would and go to a Jan 1 age break or just go by grade and forget it. At least the way they are talking all of the grade exceptions would be in D1 and you could play in D2 and not have to worry about it. For the record my kids have always played up in AAU and school ball as well as their grade. Lots of people are starting their kids late now and they qualify as grade exceptions even though they haven't been held back. Shelby Valley had several 19 or soon to be 19 year olds. It does make a difference.

IMO they should just do away with it and let the boys play in the grade that they are in; when it comes to grade exception players some boys are overlooked because they do not add the right dynamic to a team but are obviously better than many other players that are not grade exceptions. Some people can say it is an advantage but it can be detrimental as well. On the other hand, I sort of like the thought of the new rule though because on his current team he is the only age exception so they could be more competitive in D2 or he might have other opportunities with 5 grade exceptions in D1. So IMO opinion it does make sense and I think it might be a very good rule for a clear separation of the divisions; however will there be enough teams in D1 in local areas?

May as well let them play with their grade as long as they will be eligible their Senior year.....this is the grade he/she will be playing with in 9-12.

Kentucky Thunder won 13u BCI state this weekend. Solid team with several good players. THey lost both pool play games and came back and won 4 straight from the losers bracket to win the tourney. Defeated Lexington Celtics a big strong athletic team made up of players in Lexington. Celtics beat them by 14 in pool play. THunder won by 3 in championship game. Hit something like 14 3's in title game and played all 4 games that day with only 7 players...
