I think that's more of "being a fan of how you were raised" rather than the TV argument. I watch UK play once a week and also watch about 10 other games. I'd imagine recruits are the same way. ND having its own TV network is no longer a big deal.

 

I agree with you that it is no longer a big deal with respect to exposure, but it is still a big deal to the university from a financial standpoint. I'd guess that without it, it would be all but impossible to continue their goal of remaining independant.

 

I'd say they still have an advantage as far as being on T.V. as compared to other schools. All of the home or neutral site games are broadcast nationally and every one of their road games is picked up by one of the other networks and at least shown regionally. I get to see more Notre Dame games in Kentucky than I can UK games. But overall I agree with your point.

I don't see the problem with Joker saying this, I'm sure every coach would like to own every area that produces a lot of talent. I'd like to read something like what Joker said as opposed to "We'll try our best to get some recruits in Cincinnati, but I don't know if we can compete with Notre Dame, UC, Ohio State and Co."

But here's the problem with that.....

 

Joker, and no one on here expect that to happen. It was coaching talk for crying out loud. It would be about like Joker saying UK was going to work become the heavyweight in the SEC.

I'm sure Joker's ultimate goal is to win an SEC championship and compete for a national title, will that happen? More than likely not, but there's nothing wrong with him saying that.

I'm not up in arms, I could care less. I just don't see why you are getting hot and bothered by it, I don't like even like Kentucky football-actually I hate them pretty bad. Someone says one thing Cincinnati that you don't like and you say they're wrong.

You're arguing about something that none of us disagree with, none of us. You have tried to make us look and feel stupid, when everyone on here agrees that UK will not lock up Cincinnati. You got defensive about the Cincy area for no good reason, giving all the reasons it couldn't happen. No one cared about those, or disputed those. Your infinite wisdom about the Cincy recruiting area does little to change the fact that what Joker was doing was trying to excite the fan base.
