I think that's more of "being a fan of how you were raised" rather than the TV argument. I watch UK play once a week and also watch about 10 other games. I'd imagine recruits are the same way. ND having its own TV network is no longer a big deal.

None of us, Joker included, are saying that UK currently owns or will own Cincy in the future. He is making it a goal though, just like my goal is to work up to a job that pays me 7 figures a year. It's a goal, its recruiting talk, it's for the fans. You're taking what Joker said way too seriously man.:idunno:

 

No one cares about the facts. The facts don't matter. Joker is trying to build some relationships in Cincinnati, which I didn't know was a dishonorable crime. He may not ever own Cincy (realistically he most likely won't be able to) but what is the harm in making it a goal for his team?

Obviously he knows that you don't build a pipeline overnight.

 

I think it's great. Two solid recruits out of the Greater Cincinnati area this year. It's a great goal and there's no reason NOT too recruit in an area that has some of the best high school football in the country when it's right up I-75.

Who said that? No one has said that. You made fun of Joker for saying that, and all people have been trying to say is there is nothing wrong with it. You are close enough to a college program to understand coach speak I would think. Turner Gill said he was going to be a major player in Big 12 recruiting, he probably won't, but IMO there is nothing wrong with saying it. :idunno:

 

It just seems like you've been picking a fight, when there was no fight to be had. UK fans understand that Cincinnati kids have ties to programs that are most likely not the Wildcats. I just don't see what the harm was with Joker saying he wanted to own Cincinnati.

If so, when Jones states he wants to build a national champion at UC, I want you to say the same things. It can't be done there, or as you would put it there are several challenges that make it an extremely hard task.

I'm sure most people on this board were aware that Cincinnati would not be an easy area to recruit. You have UC, OSU, ND, and other schools in the midwest. I just don't see why you had to bring those comments down so much. No one, besides you, took it seriously. Joker is going to make Cincy a priority, but at most I wouldn't think that UK would pull in more than a few a year from the area if any.

 

But thanks for the enlightenment man. Now I understand that UK recruiting is a futile endeavor in Cincy. How I got through 22 years of my life without knowing that I will never know. :idunno:
