And they're not in the top 5? Wow.

The best team isn't ranked in the top 3. Scott County is too high. Catholic is too low.

You mean not event the Top 5!! :D:D

What purpose do these rankings serve?

To make people mad and entertainment value!:clap::clap:

Actually, I did mean the Top 5. How can Trinity not be in the top 5? :isurrender:

Just teasing with you but I do agree about not being in the Top 5! Makes no sense. :idunno::idunno:

Manual makes a major move into the top ten. Five of the top ten out of the 7th Region!

These ratings mean nothing. After McCreary beating Seneca, Corbin and Male they get left out. Nice joke!

I believe Holmes is a top-five team, but Cantrall's formula takes margin of victory into account. Holmes' recent close calls (three over NewCath, three over Dixie and two over Campbell) and the loss to Ryle brings their numbers down.

I think this, along with not considering out of state games, makes the Literatings and Cantrell ratings very suspect.

If you are trying to prepare for a run in the regionals or state, IMO it does no good to beat a team by 40, rather a coach should be trying to find who can give him needed depth for later.

Gold, I don't know if Madison Southern should be ranked 16th or not but you must not have seen them play Scott Co at Scott. They were down 5 with 39 seconds left and had to start fouling. While it was a 10 pt loss it was still impressive, on the road no less.

Don't count them out yet.

All computer ratings are suspect for one reason or another, but more often than not, Cantrall does a pretty decent job.

Cov Holmes hasnt had very many good wins this year, around 10th sounds about right to me. I do like thier coach and the fact he isnt concerned about margin of victory. I am sure he would like them to be playing better to have won by more, but the players just aren't playing good enough.

As I stated eariler, no disrespect to them, they are having a great season.:thumb:

McCreary Central will not even get out of the 12th region....not in the same league with top teams!!

Holmes is 2-1 against this ranking's top 25.

They beat #18 Mason Co @ Mason Co and they beat #7 Christian Co at Montgomery Co.

They lost to #1 Ballard in Louisville at Fairdale.

Ballard and Ryle are their only two in state losses.

Their other 3 losses came to undefeated Bowman Academy (currently rated #3 in the state of Indiana), Princeton, OH (Top 10 D1 school in the state of Ohio), and McEachern, Ga (Currently 17-4 with 3 losses to top 50 teams in the country and the other loss to Trinity). Holmes hasn't played well at times this season, but the tough competition they've gone up against has a lot to do with 4 of their 5 losses.

They have lost to some good teams. But they havent been able to beat the good teams like they did last year.
