February 10, 201016 yr The thread on curling got me to thinking about what my favorite sport to watch in the Winter Olympics. My favorite is snowboarding(love watching Shaun White) followed closely by speed skating. So what's yours?

My favorite is snowboarding(love watching Shaun White) followed closely by speed skating. So what's yours? I love the Flying Tomato as well! :lol: I really can't think of one that's my favorite, per se. I just know that I can't do any of them, and even more than the Summer Olympic sports, or the big money sports (which I love), I am in awe of anyone who can accomplish what those athletes do in cold conditions. I'm an Olymipian in Couch Potato Channel Surfing or even Web Surfing in the winter. Walking my dog in 6" of snow is as challenging for me as skiing, ice skating, skeleton and snowboarding is for these athletes. And, to be clear, I've had moments in the last few days where I resembled an athlete of any of the sports I mentioned, as well as the Idiatrod, with only one little dog and a leash. :lol: I have the aching muscles & joints, bruises, and swollen knees to prove it. :ohbrother:
February 11, 201016 yr I'm more of a traditionalist. Downhill and GS skiing, bobsled and luge are probably my favorites.
February 11, 201016 yr I enjoy the Summer Olympics more, but that doesn't mean I don't still enjoy the Winter. I think I would have to go with bobsledding or the luge as my favorite Winter sport.
February 11, 201016 yr Hockey. And the way it's done during the Olympics with no commercial breaks except during intermissions makes it even better than usual. Although I don't know how interesting it will be this year; what are the odds somebody besides Canada can actually win that one in Vancouver?
February 11, 201016 yr I love the downhills and short track speed skating (Ohno). When things go bad, they really go bad!
February 11, 201016 yr I love men's ice hockey. The skiing is always fun. Bobsled looks like something I would pay good money to participate in (along with some professionals so I don't have to do much!). And of course skeleton, just because there is a good chance of seeing an absolutely epic crash. For what it's worth, I don't like any olympic sport that chooses a champion with judges. So to clarify, I CAN'T STAND figure skating.
February 11, 201016 yr As an avid skier, the downhill is definitely my favorite. I also enjoy Super G and ski jumping.
