Sydney Moss is a unique player she is good at all area's of the game and last night showed that well. Not many girls at her age or at the high school level can finish the way she does around the goal. She can finish with her right hand as well as her left. The first time i seen her play over the summer i thought she was right handed because of how well she could finish around the goal. And I'm taking nothing away from Jenna she is a very good player and will be at the D-1 level and she has a great turn around shot and a very good 3 point shot but last night proved who has the upper hand in this head to head battle between to great talented players. Sydney had 32pts 16reb, Jenna had 19pts 7 reb which was a season low for Jenna in rebounds. In the second half Moss guarded Jenna and held her to 6 or 8 points i believe because if i dont recall Moss had 15 in the first half and jenna had 13.

And who was it that said this game didn't mean anything last week? It's gotten over 100 comments to this thread because there is passion in BGP members! We can all get a little snippy at times with each other but I hope it's all in fun. I know it is with me. I love my team as you all ove yours. More so, i love the game. Not big on the theatrics of some but the game is awesome.

 

I hope the weather doesn't affect the Ryle-NCC game tomorrow. Believe me, there is passion in campbell County as well.

She is the winningest coach ever in northern kentucky, she has 18 district titles, 7 regional championships and 6 runner up finishes. and yes your right about how many titles she has won in the state tournament, but how many other coach from this region in any sport have won a state title? and this is the 6th ranked winningest coach in the state ever.

Mike Yeagle won 9 titles in 10 tries, and I haven't even started with Highlands yet.

With all due respect to Fookes (she is a great coach), Nky. has won lots of Girl's soccer and volleyball State titles.

There is no personal knowledge. But claiming an athlete, who is playing for their 3rd HS team in 4 years (Heritage, Ryle, Boone) left Ryle for a reason far more important than athletics is flat out silly and naive. She is an excellent player and may help Boone to some Regional Championships over the next three years...but she shouldnt be wearing a Boone jersey until next season.

I do not have a dog in this fight, here are the facts of the game last night:

 

1) anyone discarding Nell as a coach is a hater with an agenda. Facts are facts.

 

2) the referees did not favor Boone, if anything it was maybe Ryle on the timeout call and not giving 25 a flagrant on the play that everyone is disputing

 

3) Crittendon and Moss are both fantastic and good kids. People should quit talking about these players like they are pros. They are 15 or 16 and should not be criticized by obsessive parents/

 

4) Great crowd, good for Girls basketball (Ryle and Boone fans)

 

5) Ryle did not get the ball to Crittendon in the last 7 minutes of game. I think Ryle has more talent from player 2 to player 5, but didnt have the coaching last night to let their best player lead them. Especially when Moss had the cramp and was limping while guarding Jenna

 

6) Anyone who blames the referees for the game last night needs to watch the game again. I have seen poorly officiated games and that was not one of them. Boone coach was not saying anything directly to 25, she repeatedly said flagrant foul, flagrant foul. She was staring at 25 but didnt even come close to bumping her. Watch it again before making such accusations.

 

7) Contrary to one coaches assessment, there were 2 Division 1 athletes on the floor last night, not 6 like reported early in the year. That is a fact.

 

8) Outstanding effort by both teams. Those girls played their hearts out.

NCC and Highlands match up will be a great one where Highlands will attempt to avenge a one point loss. The Region draw will be much anticipated too so as far as I am concerned we are all the winners. The Region will be a battle of the best and the best will proudly travel to Bowling Green and represent the 9th very well. Come out and support your team, yell, scream, clap and complain about the refs and coaches because this stuff is what makes us love this game. These girls put forth a ton of effort 12 months out of the year to put on this show for us so applaud their efforts, their talent and their tolerance of us silly adults.
