  1. let's leave this alone and stay positive; the best part of any player getting a scholarship is the chance to keep playing ball and more importantly, getting a free education; let's stop talking about it because many of us are old has-beens and never weres sitting at a computer like we're genuises; it's really kind of sad and I'm really sorry I've taken part in it
  2. NKU has traditionally used bigger guards; Sandfoss may be an exception; Jump has driven herself to pass bigger, faster kids to get where she is; just give the kid credit and leave it at that
  3. colleges recruit for their system; NKU plays more of an inside game with bigger guards; Wright State plays a running, inside out passing game and shoot between 30 to 35 threes a game; research your players and colleges; you can't use a tape measure or stopwatch to measure desire, work ethic or heart
  4. One last post: I have decided, to the joy of many, to stop posting, unless I have to defend myself, and let my subscription run out. I have decided to just be a fan and let kids be kids. I don't imagine any of us would have enjoyed having our games and decisions disected by people, like myself, who don't even know all the details of a situation. I know there are some areas that are good for discussion, but I'm going with the "it is what it is " philosophy and leave the kids out of it. These transfers and speculative transfers have been put through the wringer (I'm guilty of it also) so I'm asking on behalf of the kids to let them be kids. I think I finally understand the position it puts the players in.
  5. To all, I've said my piece and I hope no one is labeling anyone else in any way. We really don't know each other and it's unfair from either side to assume things about each other. I've learned my lesson and I hope I can now be left out of this conversation. I am sorry if I offended anyone.
  6. Frank, I do honestly respect your posts but I hope you are not directing your last statement at me. Don't put a bad label on me because the same label could be used on you in a similar way. That can go both ways. That aside, I have learned from this thread that speculation, innuendos, predictions, etc. should be left alone. I stated I didn't know if he talked to all of the board, I just told you what that one individual said and it wasn't just some guy in the seats. I guess I've learned that it's not even enough to talk to someone involved. All of us, including myself, seem to be good at picking a statement apart and trying to make the person seem wrong. Whatever happened or happens is in someone else's hands. I repeated what the man said to me and that wasn't enough, yet others make accusations and use rumors and very little is said to them. I've pretty much had it with hearing what goes on at Boone, NewCath, Ryle, Conner, etc. from people who don't go right to the source. I did and it still doesn't matter so I give up.
  7. Frank, are you saying you know some on the board have a bias against Boone or are you just asking what if? If you say you know for sure, how do you know this, did you talk to all of the members of the board? I stated exactly what the man said to me. Did the board discuss it after the fact? I don't know. He explained the facts as he knew them and left it at that. As far as the other school not appealing. I can't say why they didn't because I didn't talk to anyone who helped make the decision. I have learned one thing in the last few posts I have made, you should talk to someone in the know instead of just speculating. I also learned this, labels, true or not, can stick for a long time.
  8. Looking back, I don't recall saying "I heard she was transferring" or anything about rumors. I simply made a prediction. If I'm wrong, so be it. I wasn't repeating rumors or dealing in speculation. I actually sat down with the person at the state tournament and talked about last year, not Beal. How many of you have actually tried that approach. He was just concerned about setting a precedent that would cause problems in the future. On a more technical note. I am seriously asking this question. What is the rule? Hypothetically, can a player at a private school, with varsity experience, transfer to the public school, where he or she lives in that district, without penalty? If so, couldn't the player theoretically decide to transfer again to another private school without changing residences? In this case, a player could play for several schools without sitting out or moving.
  9. I was told by a member of the state board of control that the big transfer last year would not have been allowed by the board but Ms. Devries ok'd the case. It was not appealed, which would have sent it to the board of control and he said emphatically, they would not have ok'ed it. He was not very happy with the decision. I'm just repeating the facts I got. She will end up at Boone, why do you think Minor is leaving. Again, what a joke.
  10. I anyone would care to remember, I called this exact shot right at the girl's state tournament. I predicted Beal as a lock at Boone. What an easy call. What a joke.
  11. We all know that even officials from other regions still know who the stars and big name coaches are in the region they're going to. They still get more benefit of the doubt. We all know it, why fool yourself.
  12. 3 pages on Grant County basketball? I guess I've spent too much time on the girl's forum.
  13. just curious about the name cortezthekiller; Neil Young fan?; great song
