Tonite was my first time ever seeing the Moss girl play. Obviously, she's talented and strong and dominates the inside plus she has a sweet stroke from the foul line. Dominant.

 

However, if you made me pick one player that you can project her game to the college level I'll take Crittendon. Very impressive all-around game.

 

Some obviously have only seen Moss play on the HS level and see her playing inside and don't see her overall game. Coach Fookes does that because Moss is nearly unstoppable against typical sized HS teams. Even when double- and triple-teamed and banged around.

 

But those who have seen her play AAU basketball know she can play out on the floor, handle the ball, shoot out there, defend out on the floor, as well as take it to the hole. The college scouts know that because they've watched her play all over the country on the AAU circuit.

With all due respect, Moss and Crittendon were the players in the game. Neither have to worry about us as far them getting good next level opportunities. Very solid players indeed.

Good to hear from you Frank. I was afraid you might have gotten snowed in. I personally think Sydney can do alot of things that Boone doesn't need her to do at this time. I was thinking about Boone's current team, and you tend to forget how valuable Sandlin, Davis and Sellers are to the team. Their roles have changed some but they still make others better. I think Boone will miss them more than anyone thinks. I just wonder how well they will be replaced next year. They will leave some pretty important shoes to fill.

Maybe this addressed elsewhere, but how is it Moss is eligible to play for Boone? The family, as I understand it, still live in the same house across from Ryle they lived in when she played for Ryle.

It would be naive to think that the Nky. refs don't have more patience for her antics. All great coaches influence referees.

No question about the value of those young ladies to the Boone team. Sandlin is an excellent leader who has really come on in the point guard role after not filling that rspot previously. Davis is a tough defender and rebounder and can score more than she has been doing. I look for her to break out with a big game. Sellers brings that solid senior leadership that only can come from putting in the time and effort to get to that stage. And she is always a threat from three.

 

It was good for chemistry that Sandlin and Davis and Moss played together last summer on the same AAU team. And the ability and willingness for some Boone players to accept different roles than perhaps they envisioned at the end of last year is very commendable and key to Boone's success. Also Moss' ability to fit in and be accepted by her new teammates has been remarkable.

 

The departing Boone seniors will be missed next year, no doubt. But Boone has some pretty good young players that I think will surprise folks next year, particularly those who believe Boone will be dramatically down. You can't lose the seniors that Boone will lose without an impact but I'm betting Coach Fookes will blend returners and newcomers into a competitive unit.

Yes, this has been discussed in several threads. Perhaps someone will point you to one of them. If not I'll do so when I get back from a little trip.

Players loosen up for a reason....to sit and wait and then tip is not a good idea for either side. The stall comment was sarcasm which is obviously lost when two sides are so emotionally vicious. Have the ceremony prior to warm ups in the future.

 

I really like both sides for different reasons and have touted Nell as the greatest coach in Kentucky for years so don't drag me into the Ryle vs Boone hype.

On that (Greatest coach in Kentucky) we'll agree to disagree.

She deserved recognition in front of the largest crowd prior to game time...after flying in from out of state and old team-mates/family travelled as well...take all night to show her the love she deserved.

 

It's very similar on senior nights. I recall sitting in one last year at NDA and they had a gazillion seniors...but the other team waited patiently as they were honored...as did I

 

No one drags you into this my friend...you do a great job of that yourself

 

Boone sits through Sacred Hearts every other year...it's unreal...they honored several sports before the game...we waited almost 30-45 minutes during the ceremony and they "DID NOT" have one senior basketball player on the team...unbelievable!

Great game WVFrank! I mean that, If everyone looks back over all of my comments made during the past year you will see that I am a Sydney Moss fan as well. She can flat out play. I'm a Ryle fan and I can tell you, it sure would be fun to have her in our middle and Jenna on the wing where she belongs.
