cannot personally comment on whether Fookes had a hand in getting Moss to Boone but more than one of her past players have told me how Fookes invited "certain implact players" from other schools to attend "functions" with some of her players and mysteriously those players wound up transferring to Boone. To say that Fookes has never recruited any players from other schools is like the ostrich sticking its head in the proverable sand and stating like Sgt. Schultz in Hogen's Hero's - "I see nothing, I see nothing." Yes, Fookes has a good program but having impact players from other schools transferring in doesn't really show what kind of program it would be without those tranfers. Case in point, "What kind of team would Boone have without Moss?" Still a good team, but not likely to be much of a threat to win the region. Opposing coaches are just sick of the "I never had anything to do with it" mentality. They are not ostriches!!!

I do not have a dog in this fight, here are the facts of the game last night:

 

1) anyone discarding Nell as a coach is a hater with an agenda. Facts are facts.

 

2) the referees did not favor Boone, if anything it was maybe Ryle on the timeout call and not giving 25 a flagrant on the play that everyone is disputing

 

3) Crittendon and Moss are both fantastic and good kids. People should quit talking about these players like they are pros. They are 15 or 16 and should not be criticized by obsessive parents/

 

4) Great crowd, good for Girls basketball (Ryle and Boone fans)

 

5) Ryle did not get the ball to Crittendon in the last 7 minutes of game. I think Ryle has more talent from player 2 to player 5, but didnt have the coaching last night to let their best player lead them. Especially when Moss had the cramp and was limping while guarding Jenna

 

6) Anyone who blames the referees for the game last night needs to watch the game again. I have seen poorly officiated games and that was not one of them. Boone coach was not saying anything directly to 25, she repeatedly said flagrant foul, flagrant foul. She was staring at 25 but didnt even come close to bumping her. Watch it again before making such accusations.

 

7) Contrary to one coaches assessment, there were 2 Division 1 athletes on the floor last night, not 6 like reported early in the year. That is a fact.

 

8) Outstanding effort by both teams. Those girls played their hearts out.

 

9) Newport Catholic may be the favorite to win the region

I should never express my own personal opinions on coaches on here . Mistake on my part. Not a Nell hater, just not a fan of her coaching style. I was less than 10 feet from the floor when the disputed play happened and Boone's coach went directly after 25 before she started politicing the referees. Great game as I stated earlier looking forward to the Ryle - NCC game tonight.

Think it was reported earlier by the Ryle coach that 4 of her players had been on D1college visits and were receiving interest before the season started. Those are facts.
