All of Ryle's players began their high school eligibilty as Freshman at Ryle High School. None have played at any other schools from their 9th grade year on.

 

This response skirts the issue concerning "home grown" talent.

Recruiting. There are no secrets on how it is done. I've watched it for years. There are several ways it can be done without directly involving the coach. One way is that kids from one program will play in the summer with a player and convince them to come to their school. Some kids play for other high school coaches than their own in the summer and that coach tries to convince them. Sometimes a friend of a coach takes an AAU team and finds players to try and recruit. It's no secret. The difference some of you are pointing out is that kids usually have to move to the new district to play. Not having to move usually means there is some special, unusual stipulation like a medical reason. Who knows? Who cares? "It is what it is!"

 

I dare say it is a common practice on many of the upper echelon teams. either join em or be beat by em.

 

Couldn't agree more. Coaches, get those parents, players and friends out there working on that roster.

Your comment doesn't mean squat to me, but you can't make this comment and then claim Boone had a transfer at the guard position the past 4yrs...because she began her career at Boone as a freshman
