CCC, you stated "Common Sense" Texas is the best job, not IMO, but now you are saying IMO and I wouldn't have said a thing if you had IMO instead of Common Sense.

 

Bama doesn't a pro team to contend with, one other major school, no far traveling to visit high schools, tradition better than Texas, weather the same, nice college town, close to great states with tradition almost as equal, now IMO. Not common sense.

 

Still it's common sense. No one has put up a good argument to state that a job is better. Schools can offer the same amount of money and tradition, but recruiting alone puts Texas at the top. No one can match that, Texas is a relatively easy job. USC, UF, Bama, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and others are not. Texas should always be good, though they struggled with some poor coaching in the past.

 

I've noticed that the last few seasons when the Rivals rankings come out over the summer that teams like UF and USC have a handfull of commitments whereas UT has about 20 already by June. They simply select who in the state that they want to have. Thats not to say they never lose a recruit such as All Day going to OU, but for the most part they have the pick of the litter.

 

I just looked over their roster on rivals and all but 4 or 5 kids are from TX. Last 3 recruiting classes have had one kid each from out of state.

Cut is going to help them on the front of possible scandals and sanctions. He is a solid coach and a great person.

 

With that said, this is certainly not what Tennessee wanted. It has been a difficult time since the hiring of Kiffin, which was a mistake in the first place.

 

He brought them the attention they wanted.

If it is indeed Cut, he will probably just help in the transition to a new coach in a few years. How old is he anyway?

Im not even sure that Mack Brown is that great of a recruiter. You really dont have to be at UT tho.

^I get that impression as well. Meyer, Saban, Kiffin, Tressell are out all over the place and it just seems like Mack sits back and picks his players.

With all of talent flowing into the Texas program, you'd think they'd have more than 1 National Championship in the last 35 years.

He was a great recruiter in his previous job at UNC-Chapel Hill.

I think Muschamp will fix that in the future. IMO, he coached better than anyone in the MNC game. That defense kept them in it. I've never been big on Mack Brown, but it's kind of hard to argue with the results.
