I believe that, as dumb as this sounds, it is NewCath's best interest to play at Beechwood in the playoffs. I hope they win, but I think that their offense will be better served in November on the turf rather than the mud pit that will be Newport Stadium. Not, to mention so will their defense.

I think the game is about even. However, it is not a lock that these two teams will meet again. The loser is going to have a tall task on the road in round two.

So you really think that LC could knock off the loser of this game in the second round?? Don't they have a lot of people returning from last year???

LCA lost only 2 senior position players to graduation (plus the kicker). Those 2 seniors were linemen (175 and 185 lbs., respectively). All the others were sophomores and juniors last year.

Yes.

Either NCC or Beechwood would be a favorite but I think it is a very dangerous game for several reasons.

I also agree I would rather have the ideal field conditions at Beechwood vs. pot luck at Newport.

Well I'll go out on a very short limb and say the NKY district wins 3 of the 4 playoff games in the first round with LCA beating the NKY #4 seed.

That leaves the #1 NKY seed hosting the #3 NKY seed (most likely Bellevue) while the #2 NKY seed goes to #1 LCA.

So in essence Bellevue versus NCC or Beechwood will also be round 1 of 2 as they are very likely to meet again.

And to further complicate things if Newport makes an anticipated run into the 2A playoffs NCC would have to play any home games on Saturdays after the field has been played on Friday night.

Admittedly biased;

Beechwood 24

This is the first time I have ever had to miss the game. Have Volleyball in Louisville. Will have my cell phone in my hot little hands. Go Lady Tigers in Louisville and go go go Beechwood Tigers in Ft. Mitchell :fight:

I just can't make myself stomach the idea of another loss though.

Mak,

Here is your therapy this week. You must say to yourself 15 times each night to help you fall asleep: "Even if my beloved Breds lose to Beechwood again, I will be able to stomach this event and hope for a better outcome in the playoffs."

Very much so and anyone that says any different doesn't have a clue.

I know a year can make a difference ie. SK but do you honestly think LCA could beat NCC or Bwood? Bwood lost some studs but they beat the Eagles by 40+ last season. I'll take the have no clue route.

If the game is close and it should be then I'll take the Tigers with Yeagle over the Breds and Schneider.

Beechwood 21

NewCath 14

Every person down here in Lexington will be at this game on Friday night. I hope both teams play and coach to the best of their ability. With that said, I'll take:

Newcath- 24

Beechwood- 21

This one should be a barnburner with both teams equally tallented and semi-deep at skill positions....could come down to special teams..I will have to say:

Newport Central Catholic-21

Beechwood-20

Does anyone knolw if Coach Yeagle will be patrolling the sidelines Friday night?

Why wouldn't he be?
