NL outplayed PC and won the game. NL was more prepared mentally and physically. A school has the right to buy out a contract. It happens all the time. The decision was a good one.

It is a good call for NL, is it up to them to look out for PC's best interest? PC is a regional champion, this will give them the opportunity to schedule someone of their caliber I suppose.

The best interest for all involved would be for NL to show its players to HONOR commitments! Now you are teaching those players that if you don't agree with what you have committed to just turn your back on it and buy your way out. Maybe they will be good enough to make the playoffs and have to make the trip anyway. No buying your way out of a playoff game, if you make it.

NL earned that win, whether you like it or not. I know that there were some NL losses where I felt they should have won, but they didn't. No excuses, the other team made the plays to win the game and NL didn't, end of story. Same from this game. NL made the plays they had to make to win the game and nothing will change that. PC ended up winning the region, but this loss still angers you that much? Enjoy your district & region titles, ... first in school history and prepare for this fall to defend those titles.

 

I have mixed emotions on seeing this game cancelled, but its not my call. If after arguably the best season in PC's history they are still that angry about this loss, and after all that was said on and off the record, I do believe that a few years off from playing each other may be a good thing. If they both make the playoffs and meet each other then, so be it.

Actually, I think it was Lincoln County that lost that game by forfeit due to the swine flu. Garrard offered to move their game around to help. But I see your point.

Look, as a player (and their are several out there who post on here), after a loss like that one, it stings a bit. But you take hold your head up and say "see you next year" -especially when you KNOW you are going to play them next year (you have a contract). Then to have that taken away from you, well it just doesn't sit well with, as it should not sit well with anyone who has a competitive bone in their body. I that and a $1 will get you a cup of coffee. I know that this posting is not going to make Larkey change his mind in any way. Nor do I believe all you die hard Jaguar fans will admit ot that either. That is just the way I feel. Iwould feel the same way if it was Barren (we laid a bigger egg against them) who pulled out of their contract. How many people would be on here calling PC everything in the book if they had bought out the contract to Henry Clay - Our opponent for hte Don Marshall Bowl. I can hear them saying we were dodging a big opponent. Who did NL replace our game with? Does anyone know yet?

My quess is they got in a bowl game somewhere that pays them around $3000.00. That way they don't have to go to Pulaski and get hammered-but they still don't lose $3000.00 out of their revenue. Just a quess on my part, but I would say I am pretty close. I would also say that the N Laurel people already know who they are playing but will not tell as of right now. Once again, NL won. Let that just eat at you Pulaski folk for some time, forever, I assume because it seems like you all cannot get over a loss.

It shows some ignorance to think that a team who won would automatically get hammered the next season. Congrats on a fine season and move on. I never knew a little ole' pesky 5-5 North Laurel team that hasn't had any success in half a decade could cause such a stir in such a fine community as Somerset.:lol:

I expect NL to be every bit as competitive next year as they were in 2009. Hopefully even more competitive.
