NL beat you fair and square get over it. Besides you all should be use to losing to Laurel Co. teams, after all when both laurels were in the 12th region they ran through it in basketball and a lot of times baseball.

I know Coach Larkey well enough to know that whoever runs to the hole the fastest and bulls his way over people will be the TB. I cant wait to go see some of their games this year. It reminds me of the old Rockcastle days of power football.

 

I did find out how NL beat PC. TB pass on 4th and goal, now that is out coaching the the other team. :thumb:

It was a great call. Wardrup drew so much focus that when he took the pitch, it left Rotundi wide open in the end zone. It was a very smart call and Rotundi sold it with a great acting job like he was trying to block the DB. The defense committed and left him wide open.

 

That game with PC was a very exciting game from beginning to end. Both teams making big plays all night. NL just had one more in their bag than PC did that night. That is the one thing I will miss about there not being a rematch this year, ... I think it would have been a great game. But I understand and look forward to seeing who NL will open the season with. I have a feeling it will be a 6A team. Just a hunch.

 

I think NL will run the TB by committee with Rotundi, Wagers and Williams splitting most of the carries. If Larkey can get the line to continue to improve and fire off like his dad's teams are known for doing, the Jaguars will be fine.

That is true. If you play hard and does what he needs you to do, you will play.

The Baker boy had 150 tackles. He'll be missed. only played defense.

 

The Linemen were pretty much one way.

 

Shears played both ways, Wardrup only at running back. Fugate only one way. Maybe 5 guys at any given time playing on both sides of the ball.

Dylan Baker had a phenomenal season. Hadn't played since 8th grade, and led the team in tackles. I would love to have seen where he would have been had he played all 4 years.

 

Wardrup & Fugate played occasionally on defense. I think Prewitt went both ways on the line sometimes.

I am thinking Rotundi on the outside and a few different out of the backfield.

North could be better this year than last year. Losing Wardrup, Shears, Miller, Baker, etc hurts, but having Fugate back at QB with all the work he has put in will be a big plus. The O line could be solid, and I think it will be RB by committee which could make them more dangerous as you never know who will be running the ball. A full year under Larkey and Sams and the off season program should make NL better as well. Don't be surprised if a freshman with a familiar name to NL fans comes up a few times this season, .. Gabe Blair. Gabe is a freshman and the younger brother of former all state NL RB Nik Blair. Nik was quicker and had a nose for the end zone, but Gabe has good quickness and speed, and is bigger than Nik. I am not sure if Gabe will be a factor this year, but I wouldn't rule it out. I am sure there is still a Rotundi at NL (has been about every year since the family moved to London) and those kids play hard and smart.

 

I think NL will throw the ball a little bit more this year with the work that Fugate has put in and the confidence that Larkey is beginning to put in him to air it out, and with his running ability, tuck it and run when he needs to.

 

IMHO, the biggest loss won't be Wardrup on offense, but Baker on defense. Baker led the team in tackles and seemingly was all over the field making plays on D. His hustle and natural ability as a LB will be missed.
