December 31, 200916 yr I absolutely love watching this guy play, and that got me and Big Spikes talking about it today. Where do you guys rank him among defensive players of this decade? I think he's the most dominant player defensively of this era (2000-2010), but maybe because he is more recent than other players. Stats for JR and SR years combined (before tonights game: -158 tackles (82 this year) -19.5 sacks (12 this year) -42 tackles for loss (23 this year) -40 QB hurries (26 this year) As a junior he had two interceptions, both of which were returned for TDs. This season he added another interception, 10 pass break ups, and 3 blocked kicks. Heck, last season I saw him line up at fullback on the goal line and catch a TD pass. Dude is a DT and is only one guy, but I think he'd make anyone's defense nasty.
December 31, 200916 yr He's one of my favorite all-time players to watch, I think he's the best defensive player since Charles Woodson, and will make an excellent pro.
December 31, 200916 yr Dude is just an unreal defensive tackle. If you look at his stats you would have to think he was a LB. Defensive tackles just dont have stats like that. Wish he would have had Pelini for 4 years instead of just 2.
December 31, 200916 yr He's flat out absurd in the way he can dominate a game. DTs are always impact players at the highest level, but this guy takes it off the chart. Teams like Pitt and UGA have multiple long time NFL producers at the position and the 5 or 6 guys combined have about the same production. Only once every decade or two you see a DT impact every game like the best of the best skill position prospects...
December 31, 200916 yr Author Dorsey....................................................Suh... .....................JR & SR year stats................... 133...................Tackles............................158 10......................Sacks.............................19.5 21...............Tackles for loss........................42 Dorsey was credited for 3 pass breakups and 1 forced fumble (from what I can find) his last two years. Suh as mentioned broke up 10 passes, intercepted 3 (2 for TDs), and blocked 3 kicks. I hate to say it but as good as Dorsey was I don't even think the two can be compared. Suh had more sacks and TFL's his SR year than Dorsey did in his last two. Dorsey does have a two-time All-American card that he can play as Suh just was first time once.
December 31, 200916 yr Saw where Mark May (who might know a bit about the position) said on ESPN that Suh would be All-Pro within his first 2 years in the league.
December 31, 200916 yr Dorsey does have a two-time All-American card that he can play as Suh just was first time once. But did Dorsey have a Heisman invite?
December 31, 200916 yr He is the most dominant player I've seen since LeeRoy Selmon. He was also on the D-line. 1974 Junior Year - 125 tackles & 18 sacks (65 solo tackles) 1975 Senior Year - 142 tackles & 10 sacks (88 solo tackles) 2 year total - 267 tackles & 28 sacks (153 solos)
December 31, 200916 yr Suh can control a game much like Warren Sapp used to do at the "U". Except Suh is much bigger and stronger. Sapp is the last DT that was a game changer by himself. Dorsey was very good, but was part of a very good LSU team. Edited December 31, 200916 yr by FRONT ROW
December 31, 200916 yr Suh is one of the most impressive defensive players I have seen in the last ten years........ On any level!
December 31, 200916 yr Suh is also obviously a class young man. In his interview after the game he gave credit to everybody on the team for this win, and took very little credit for himself.
December 31, 200916 yr Author But did Dorsey have a Heisman invite? Hey, I'd take Suh over Dorsey as well. I would take Suh over any defensive player of this decade by far.
December 31, 200916 yr I am so mad that I didn't watch this guy play until the game against Texas, he has been a lot of fun to watch. I think he will make a solid pro, his instincts are incredible.
